billyjoe72
You will laugh.....just plain old car rubbing compound I bought years ago. Yet Another laugh....rustoleum spray paint, and a water based brush on. The poly is minwax. I commented on your two subs you posted on the other thread. Very Pretty. Very curious on the sound. billyjoe72
Yeah, I know. I'm at work and camera is home. It sure is pretty. I'm looking at it now and I think I heard it say " work more overtime and get the rest of your S*** so I can make some noise." It doesn't seem to be very nice.[]

billyjoe72
One more for now. I still need to brace most of it. I think I might do something different with the top. Piano black for the rest. Any ideas? The top is removable right now.
Jay481985
I was contemplating a silver/wood or piano trim myself. Look at the Velodyne 1812 subwoofer for a more exact detail. But Silver body more of a silver like the iFi and wood trim on the top,3/4 edge and the small sides that you have adjacent to the front panel that you made. Silver and dark cherry or walnut trim anyone? what about silver and piano gloss black?
billyjoe72
YEA!!!!!!!!! Just found out today that I am getting a small bonus to be mailed out friday. It's only about $400, but it will pay for my amp. It's funny how things work out.
Jay481985
where is the amp going?
DrWho
lol, the driver looks so dinky small compared to the size of the enclosure...I can't wait to hear how it turns out! Btw, you could always cut a smaller hole and use a little PVC to port your current cabinet to get an idea of what it'll sound like before the PR's show up.... I'm not sure what the rest of the decor in your room is like, but what if you added some round moulding around the outside of the top section and then finished it with a rich dark red? You could do a similar trim to the bottom of the cabinet and perhaps do similar moulding along the vertical corners too...

Any ideas? The top is removable right now. Is this the port hole? [] The driver may look small comapred to the cabinet size but it will dwell deep deep and perform well. Jay481985
well there is the certain view point where the sub look like a midrange now in that huge cabinet. But then there are those that have effectively no baffle. The one that looks right is not always the best sound quality and the one that looks wrong might be the best quality
billyjoe72
The driver does look small. I hope it will make me giddy like a school girl. If it doesn't, I will cry just like the school girl mentioned before.
Jay481985
it will hit low..... don't worry about that. Now you need to get some acoustic fabric and make a grill cause man oh man that sub looks "girly" in that lol
