ARPRINCE Posted February 1, 2006 Share Posted February 1, 2006 I have 5.1 setup - REF35 series. Recently I noticed when playing xbox, I hear a very faint music coming from one of my rear speaker (right side) when sound is dead. It sounds like an FM radio transmission or something. Jeff Matthews Posted February 1, 2006 Share Posted February 1, 2006 I had that too when my tuner was hooked up in my stereo. I think the sound was just "leaking" through. I never listen to radio at home anyway, so my tuner is no longer hooked up. I think it would have to do with the "pre-amp" components of your receiver. DRBILL Posted February 1, 2006 Share Posted February 1, 2006 A less than perfect connection (as in a plug and jack) can act as a detector and produce faint music. djk Posted February 4, 2006 Share Posted February 4, 2006 Go to a radio supply store and buy two 0.01µF 100V ceramic caps, wire one across each amplifier output. Keep the leads short, and don't let them short out to the chassis. May or may not work. Cost you about $1 to find out. Will short out RF picked up on speaker wire and fed back into amplifier.
