BEC
Sort of interesting to me, may not be to most others. I have just finished a rebuild on a pair of K-55V midrange drivers. A first for me, the La Scalas these came from had been in a flood and actually floated in water for some period of time. Anyway, opened them up and found that the phase plug and any space available in front of the diaphragm was packed full of mud. The diaphragm prevented mud from going into the magnet assembly, but water was inside the magnet assembly. Took a water hose to them an got rid of all the mud. Let them air dry for a few days. No rust anywhere. Cleaned out the magnet gap and installed new diaphragms. Now test good as new. Now to get on with the crossovers and tweeters. bhendrix
Is it reasonable to assume that the woofers did not fare as well?

BEC
I understand that flooded cars from the gulf coast area are starting to be cleaned up a bit and shipped all over the country for resale. I can imagine a lot of speakers also floated in the same flood. These drivers are not mine, so you will not see them in my eBay ad. Yes, I don't even want to see the woofers.
