Marvel
You couldn't just close in the back, you would still have too much cabinet volume. You need t be able to put a piece over the opening from the doghouse into the top section.
Rotorhead09
Ok, scrap that idea. I will have to come up with something new. I didn't realize that would make that much diffrence.
Marvel
Perhaps they will just sound great with the ports and you will keep them that way.
solarcarl
I agree that my listening space may be comprimising the effects of that bass mod but it would be more comprimising to take them outside mainly due to the neighbors. I'll wait till I move to a new house with more space and then revisit this experiment. Here is a pic of my current listening room which has the roof coming down at a 45 degree angle, kinda screwy for any speaker. I recently tried some Magnepan's and I must say they blew the Klipsch away in certain aspects of the listening experience. Carl
KanedaK
I love those 511B horns. You might wanna put your tweeters more backwards, aligned wit the midrange drivers, on some pedestal about 8inch from your top panel. They will integrate much better and u won't feel like they're "too loud" anymore. Stereo image should improve as well. It's very easy to try: put your tweeters on a pile of books and see if you like it...
peshewah
I really like the looks of your speakers. You do some nice work . But I will tell you that the dog would have to go.
DizRotus
Solarcarl's explanation regarding the avatar is amusing, but inconsistent with the fact that numerous versions of the doctored photo are available on the Internet. Google "dog man photo" and you'll see the same photo and others in the same vein.
