Speedball
Maybe I've been in the dark ages concerning picture quality but I just upgraded from S-video to component cables and the difference was huge. I strongly recommend anyone to try the same if they would like a burst of color and clarity.

Many TV's and/or signal boxes (cable, sat, and other sources) have a feature in their setup to change the resolution to optimize the use of componet video cables. Settings are like 480 vs 720 or 1080. The higher settings are dramatic.
Cal Blacksmith
Our HT is wired with component cables that were salvaged from the local Tweeters when they went out of business. I bought 3 sets of 25 foot cables for $20. They were used for distrabution of signal in the store. I don't know who made them but they are high quality cables. Yes component is a HUGE improvement over Svideo!
