DrPyro
KAiN64- I can't speak much about the wires you should use for the RF-7s...but speaking from my experience with the RF-3s, definately bi-wire them! As for the Ultra, SVS is quite good and includes all the cables you will need, EXCEPT the cable that goes from the amp to the speaker. You can just do bare wire ends or you can get SPADE style ends. If i'm not mistaken, there is not enough room to use banana style connectors at the Ultra end. MonsterBass 400 Subwoofer. 3. M6 Driver
For the subwoofer cable I figure whatever you can afford I've used Monster as well a home grown sub cable (coax and some RCA adapters) for a really long run that saved lots of money For all those high dollar cable enthusists out there this your chance to come out swingin' to get your point across ------------------ "FULLY LOADED" J This message has been edited by JTS8 on 11-08-2001 at 07:08 PM
DrPyro
All of those Monster Cables you have named all have RCA style connectors, they won't work when hooking up the Samson to the Ultra. You need either bare ends or Banana to Spade (i think, i don't have an Ultra yet). -DrPyro ------------------ Receiver: Denon AVR-3801 DVD: Denon DVD-1000 Front: RF-3's Rear: RS-3's Center: RC-3 SubW: KSW-

Thanks. ------------------ Home Theater (getting soon): TV: Samsung SP-43L2FX (43" LCD Rear Projection HDTV) DVD player: Toshiba SD-900E (Progressive Scan DVD player) VCR: Sony SLV-ED100 (HiFi VCR) Receiver: Denon AVC-A11SR (230V version of Denon AVR-4802) Speakers - Center: Klipsch RC-7 Mains: Klipsch RF-7 Surrounds: Klipsch RS-7 Subwoofer: SVS CS-Ultra w/Samson S1000 amplifier
boa12
yea as dr says, the rca interconnect goes between the preamp out & the samson. any good quality shielded interconnect should do. like the one they include w/ the sub (don't they?). ------------------ My Home Systems Page
boa12
kain, also you may want to consider seperates over a receiver. like get one of those nice 6 channel or 7 channel amps & a seperate preamp/processor. like the B&K reference 30 tuner/preamp/pro & a 7270 7-channel amp. then u could get another rc-7 for a rear center & a spare channel on that amp for a passive svs ultra. a few more $$$ of course. ------------------ My Home Systems Page

Well, this is my first Home Theater System and so want to keep costs low at the moment. I might consider seperates as a future upgrade. ------------------ Home Theater (getting soon): TV: Samsung SP-43L2FX (43" LCD Rear Projection HDTV) DVD player: Toshiba SD-900E (Progressive Scan DVD player) VCR: Sony SLV-ED100 (HiFi VCR) Receiver: Denon AVC-A11SR (230V version of Denon AVR-4802) Speakers - Center: Klipsch RC-7 Mains: Klipsch RF-7 Surrounds: Klipsch RS-7 Subwoofer: SVS CS-Ultra w/Samson S1000 amplifier
