Klipsch-daddy
I bought some new rf-3's last week and heve them hooked up to my kenwood receiver. Starting yesterday I was listening to a dvd and they have always been so much louder that my sat. I have a sony dvp-s360. Now the dvd player sounds less than the sat. If I watch a dvd on volume -50 on a dvd it is average not too loud. but if I switch the receiver over to the sat. on the same volume it is almost twice as loud?? ------------------ My HTS: MAINS: RF-3's CENTER: KSC-C1 REAR: SS-1's SUB: KSW-12 TV: TOSHIBA THEATER VIEW 50" RECEIVER:KENWOOD VR-4080B DVD: SONY S-360 DVD PLAYER

avman
could be the difference between analog and digital hookups, i notice differences myself when changing sources, but not to such a great degree. some receivers have a gain control built-in and ajustable for sesitivity for each input (analog). if that's not it,i'm not sure what to suggest. also if your sat receiver has a opt.dig.out, you should use it. avman. ------------------ 1-pair klf 30's c-7 center ksps-6 surrounds sony strda-777ES receiver upgraded to v.2.02 including virtual matrix 6.1 sony playstation 2 dishnetwork model 7200 dishplayer satellite receiver/digital bitstream recorder pioneer dvd player sharp 32"tv and sharp xv-z1u lcd projector panamax max dbs+5 surge protector/power conditioner monster cable interconnects/12 gua.speaker wire a 'teens' sub coming!(RSW-15 LOOKIN'GOOD!) Klipsch-daddy
I did notice my opt. cable was bent somewhat? Dont know if this is really affecting it. I would think if it was damage it would either work or not work. ------------------ My HTS: MAINS: RF-3's CENTER: KSC-C1 REAR: SS-1's SUB: KSW-12 TV: TOSHIBA THEATER VIEW 50" RECEIVER:KENWOOD VR-4080B DVD: SONY S-360 DVD PLAYER monster cable interconnects/12 gua.speaker wire
Kain
Well, my computer speakers do the same thing. I have the DeskTop Theater 5.1 DTT3500 Digital with the Hercules Game Theater XP sound card. For games I use analoge sound, but for DVDs I have Dolby Digital sound through an optical cable. For DVDs I can turn the volume to max and watch it like that, where as my games sound the same volume at half-way on the volume nob. I heard that digital signals are quieter than analoge signals, so I guess this is normal. ------------------ Home Theater (getting soon): TV: Samsung SP-43L2FX (43" LCD Rear Projection HDTV) DVD player: Toshiba SD-900E (Progressive Scan DVD player) VCR: Sony SLV-ED100 (HiFi VCR) Receiver: Denon AVC-A11SR (230V version of Denon AVR-4802) Speakers - Center: Klipsch RC-7 Mains: Klipsch RF-7 Surrounds: Klipsch RS-7 Subwoofer: SVS CS-Ultra w/Samson S1000 amplifier
