damonrpayne
We got the framing pretty much done this weekend, just a bit more HVAC duct and its all ready. My track lights, remote control dimmer, speaker wire, sub cable, HDMI cable are all sitting on a shelf ready to go. The electrician is settup in my new circuits, outlets, switches, lights etc on Thursday. Thursday night I'll finish running the various wires through PVC conduit and call for inspection on Friday morning. If any of you remember my new home construction venture you know these guys can be amazingly picky. After this, insulate, drywall party, paint, carpet, enjoy. Been planning this for a long time. damonrpayne
Boxing around my big beam, drywall is attached right to floor joists in other places.
damonrpayne
Entry way, you can see the closet to my sump pump area on the right. The platform is there to meet building code, there will be a solid core door there in a couple of days.
damonrpayne
Front of the room, was trying some paint samples there. The platform there is to set the second row of seating on. You can see a bunch of my insulation there.
damonrpayne
Big wide closet where all the gear will go. All the wire conduit from the room dumps out about 20" off the floor, right where my 2nd shelf from the bottom will be on my rack so it can dump right into the amp. damonrpayne
Big crazy strong shelving to hold all my gear in the closet, two components side by side on a shelf.
j-malotky
Looks like it is coming along nicely. I see the insulation in the corner ready to go. Excelent. JM
damonrpayne
You coming to the drywall party John? Free beer...
IndyKlipschFan
looking good... be sure before carpet is in, you wet vac the floors like 2-3 times... NO DUST.. otherwise it will come up through your pad and carpet..
j-malotky
I could probably give you a hand. Let me know when. We are into bow hunting season and have a few other commitments I would have to work arround. Believe it or not, I know some good mudding techniques that can save a lot of sanding time and lower the dust. JM
damonrpayne
If I wasn't nearing the end of funds I'd just pay someone to do it, not looking foward to that. I got one drywall quote for like $2500 though and said "screw that".
j-malotky
Its better to screw draywall than to nail it[] Do the ceiling first, rent a jack. Then to the walls keeping the joint tight at the top. It is easier to cover the space on the bottom with molding, than mud gaping gaps in the ceiling corners. JM
colterphoto1
I always sponge finish drywall- NO dust that way, but you have to be very good laying the mud up to do that. M
Marvel
You can also put a sealer on the concrete floor to manage the dust from there. It will help a lot. Well worth the cost.
