tom b. 57
The same seller that has the Dynaco 70 for sale has offered up a Scott Stereomaster 130 preamp for $690.00. He says it is in mint condition and it has Telefunkin tubes. He says it is one of the finest preamps Scott ever made. I believe it has a phono stage . This is something I would desire in a preamp. As I know very little about tubes, and even less about HH Scott, I am hoping you guys will chime in and enlighten me. You have all been very informative and your comments are appreciated. Is Scott good equipment? Is this price good, fair, out of line? What do you think? Tom
DizRotus
Send an email and/or PM to Craig http://forums.klipsch.com/members/NOSValves.aspx. He's the H.H. Scott guru around here.
steve
Tom B I actually owned a Scott 130..it was Craig's personal unit..I absolutely loved it..although my ONE complaint was that I heard a lot of white noise when no music was playing thru it. Craig said it was the nature of the beast, and Klipschorns just magnified the "flaw" due to their efficiency. I sold it, and I sometimes regret it. If this unit you are looking at is mint, the price isn't out of line, in my opinion. Just my 2 cents. And the phono section is phenomenal!
