Kubla84
Can anyone give me a suggestion as to which rear speakers I should use with my Chorus II's? I just got a KLF C7 center (could not find an Academy) and now want to replace the cheap sony rears Thanks
discusman
hey kubla84 ... i have the same exact speakers as you. Of course the favorite answer would be another pair of Chorus II's provided you have the room. I bought an extra pair but now can't use them since I could not fit them in my current setup. So ... For side surrounds I'm using RF-7's and it sounds awesome ... you can probably get away with the RF-3's depending on room size. I'm playing around with 6.1/7.1 setup and currently using quintets for rear surrounds and I'm in the process of finding a replacement ... they're just too small. Folks in this forum recommends direct radiating speakers for the back. Don't you just love your chorus II's?.
Mike Lindsey
Like Discusman, I have a pair of Chorus I's in the rear to compliment my Chorus II's up front and KLF-C7 center. For movies, RS-3's, RS-7's or KSP-S6's will all suffice for side surrounds... Mike ------------------ My Music Systems
ShapeShifter
Hey...check out this Klipsch Speaker Matching Chart by Tweeters on outpost.com's web site. Found it rather interesting. http://www.outpost.com/template/boutiques/klipsch/product_navigation/spot14/ Wes ------------------ "KLIPSCH IS MUSIC"f>
boa12
shape, that is interesting or ah funny :0 obviously at least for the centers they put more emphasis on what's for sale new now and what's shielded than they did on a timbre match. rf-7 as a center for the cornwalls??? i'd use a heresy II & shield it myself 1st. ------------------ My Home Systems Page
aab3rd
I wish Klipsch would put the speaker matching chart they used to have back on the web sight, or at least one which gives the best match for older speakers even if the matches are not made any more. Kubla84
Thanks for the replies, unfortunatly my room prevents me from using any full size speakers as surrounds so I have to limit myself to smaller models another pair of chorus's would be nice or even RF 7's but the room is too small
ShapeShifter
Kubla84 - Given your space limitation, I would use RS-3's or RS-7's, they're readily available. The KSP-6's are harder to find and often quite costly. I used RS-3's with a previous pair of Chorus II's and was quite pleased with the setup for movies. Wouldn't recommend them for extensive 5 channel music sessions, because the timbre difference becomes more evident. Boa- Yea thought that Cornwall center match was really off the mark too! They'll sell ya what they got, no worries about what ya need mate. ------------------ "KLIPSCH IS MUSIC"f>
Kubla84
Thanks Shapeshifter, I will be chaecking out the Ebay suctions for RS 7's and 3's, I bought my KLF C7 at a stereo store right after losing an EBAY auction on one they had one left and I bought it, I did not ask them about rears though, the $500 for the center blew that budget
