Autoformer

What should I expect to pay for a good used pair of autoformers? Is there an advantage to using the UTC 3619 over the original?I thought I read somewhere that the increments of attenuation are smaller than that of the T2A.Being that I am building Clones Of a Cornwall, I would like to use the simplest crossover first and progress from there .Would that be the "B" network? K-33,K-55,T-35.

Rick,

The 3619 was developed by ALK and can be used to replace the Klipsch T2A and can be used in ALK's crossover designs.

The 3636 was developed by me and can be used to replace the T2A and any other Klipsch autotransformer.  Attenuation can be set at any level between 1 and 12 db in 1 db steps.

The B-1 is the simplest crossover for the cornwall.

You can get a complete E-1 on e-bay for about 82 bucks, which, with the additiona of a 2uf cap, will be fubctionally the same as a B-1.

But keep in mind, if you by used, you may need to travle down the cap upgrade path.

Well, not quite that simple.  You would also have to rewire the autotransformer and terminal strip.
