QSC plx 1602 amp question

You assume I'm only concerned about power output which is most certainly not the case...that list was in terms of sound quality. And it most certainly wasn't some fancy distortion that I liked the sound of [:P]

I still get the impression that you are saying that Whitlock contradicts himself. One place he says it's better to use transformers and in others he says it isn't? Kinda scary if "thee source" isn't very consistent. [^o)]

Wow.

For those of you still considering QSC PLX amps after the last two pages, bear in mind:

1) A number of people on the forum have achieved quality sound with QSC PLX amps in home settings (including low noise, utilizing all the power, and with low distortion) with no adaptors/devices, and run by both tube and solid state preamps;

2) Our successful experience does not guarantee future success for all;

3) If you buy a used PLX amp, there is less risk if the match does not work out - ultimately;

4) If some sort of adaptation is necessary, then read pages 2-3 of this thread.

Now, back to the lively discussion.

Carry on. [:'(][:o][st]

Carl.
