Jay481985 Posted May 14, 2007 Share Posted May 14, 2007 I believe this is due to hot water being able to dissapate heat quicker than cold water. Basically temperature difference, if the hot water is say 100 degrees and the outside is 20 degrees you have a 80 degree difference which causes the heat to dissapate much quicker due to the difference in temperature. a 40 degree water and 20 degree outside has less a difference and gives a different Q.
