NastyHabits
A friend of mine recently disassembled is late model Heresy speakers in order to perform some mods (bracing, refinishing). We can't tell how to reconnect the speaker wiring on the K-53 to the crossover. He neglected to make any notes. They only possible clue we have is that looking at the squawker head on, there is a yellow C marked on the left side connection. Could that stand for "common". We'd sure like some help. Don't want to mis connect anything. Thanks!
Jay Registrar
I too would be interested, as I am going to refurb a pair, and I know I will forget to take good notes as well. Thanks!
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted May 7, 2007 Klipsch Employees Share Posted May 7, 2007 First, changing the phase on the mid will not hurt a thing. It can cause a problem in the sound, but no other way. Look at the driver very close. Most of the time there is a "+" or "-" on the plastic of the phase plug. IF not, the mark is hot. Groomlakearea51
Look for the yellow "dot" or paint mark. On the H-II's that I have re-done over the years, that yellow paint mark on the K-53 is usually the positive terminal. Like Trey Cannon said, can't hurt anything and you will notice it. There is a CD that some forum members have (IASCA Competition CD), that has a phase check track. play the CD and if anything is wired out of phase, you will hear it very quickly..
