We were based at 2 Theobald Street, Borehamwood while J A Michell was based next door to us and until 1973 was just an engineering company producing components for various companies. It was at this time that Stanley Kubrick came with his production manager and asked my father if he could borrow one for the film which he did so. 1973 my father gave J A Michell a licsense to procduce the Hydraulic Reference until November 1977. The roriginal Reference was designed in 1963 and then the Hydraulic in 1964. May father also designed the electronic reference but Michell produced this.
