kestrel
A friend repaid a loan with two KLF-30 speakers in black satin. They're in perfect condition and sound *great*, but as tempting as it is to keep them, I could use the cash. I don't know much about electronics at this level and was hoping to get some guidence from forum members. How can I find out what they're worth? What would be the best way to sell them? Are there any sites that cater to this type of listing? An ad in the local paper and Craig's List, of course, but is EBay an option? At 200+ lbs, I would think the shipping costs would be prohibitive. Lastly, do the speakers need to be in a climate-controlled environment? I'd like to get them out of my living room, but was told that putting them in my garage during the humid Florida summer would be damaging (not to mention blasphemous). I'd be most grateful for any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks, - kestrel
rcarlton
I sold a pair of black satin KLF-30's for $800 a couple of years ago.
wuzzzer
You'll probably get pretty close to $1000 for them.
kestrel
Thanks for your help. I hooked the speakers up to my system today just for shits and grins. Unbelievable. Intoxicated, loading disc after disc, I've spent the entire day in my living room, venturing outside only to burn my old speakers on the front lawn. I dunno. I really should sell them, but I ask you, can I ever again find happiness in a world of >.04% THD? In the meantime, I'll be researching a possible venture into the lucrative field of pizza delivery... - k.
rcarlton
I replaced my KLF-30's with K-horns. You need to pretty high up in the food chain to find something better.
Spongeworthy
KLF-30s are about as good a speaker for rock music as you'll ever hope to find. I say keep 'em. [Y]
vnzbd
Hey Kestrel, The garage would be much to harsh for the 30s. They would be welcomed in my ac. If you are interested in selling, I am in S FL, so shipping headachs could be avoided. Let me know. Thanks VNZBD
