erdric
I'm looking at changing my rear surrounds from my current RS-3's to either a KG2.5 or KG3. In order to do this I need to lie them down on their side and place them on top of matching 44" tall bookcases. I'm wondering if anyone has done this and what they think/thought of that setup. I don't think lying the KG2.5's on the side would be a problem because they don't have different vertical and horizontal dispersion patterns. IIRC, the KG3 does, though. I'd prefer the larger KG3 but not if it's generally thought to be a bad idea to lay it on it's side (for rear surrounds). TIA
Frzninvt
Should not be a problem, give it a try I think you will like the results. The dispersion pattern will be a bit different but you will have them high enough up.
erdric
Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a shot.
HatTrick66
You could try your KG4s back there and it should be about the same effect. Be careful, though, you may really like the 4's back there.

Plus, I'd be a little worried about the passive radiator on the back being too close to the wall. I just picked up a pair of OO KG3s for $100 so I'm going with those. If I don't like them on the side I'll find a way to stand them upright and keep the wife happy.
