KG3's for rear surrounds - on side vs standing

I'm looking at changing my rear surrounds from my current RS-3's to either a KG2.5 or KG3.  In order to do this I need to lie them down on their side and place them on top of matching 44" tall bookcases.  I'm wondering if anyone has done this and what they think/thought of that setup.  I don't think lying the KG2.5's on the side would be a problem because they don't have different vertical and horizontal dispersion patterns.  IIRC, the KG3 does, though.  I'd prefer the larger KG3 but not if it's generally thought to be a bad idea to lay it on it's side (for rear surrounds).

TIA

You could try your KG4s back there and it should be about the same effect. Be careful, though, you may really like the 4's back there.

Yeah, it's not a bad idea.  I thought about doing it but I think the KG4s a little too big for a high shelf, and the WAF.  Plus, I'd be a little worried about the passive radiator on the back being too close to the wall.  I just picked up a pair of OO KG3s for $100 so I'm going with those.  If I don't like them on the side I'll find a way to stand them upright and keep the wife happy.
