derrick929
I have a JVC RXV 9000VBK receiver with my KLF 30's hooked to the front channel. The speakers selector is set to large and I don't get the bass that I think I should get out of these. I wired them through my KSW 15 and it has plenty of bass at the lowest setting. So I don't know if it is the bass management on the reciever or not. Even at higher volumes you can't even see the woofer moving. Any help? Craig6519
Where are they located? I had mine in two corners originally and the bass was to much!!! Don't get me wrong I love Bass but if your saying there not putting out much try moving them back closer to the wall, just a couple of inches will make a big diference. Klipsch-daddy
I don't know about the 30's but I listen to the 10's and my rf-3's and for the 10's to have more bass than the rf-3's the saleperson had to turn the bass all the way up. He said people were tring to make the klf's sound like subwoofers, and that was not there purpose? I too was expecting more out of the klf- line but they did not impress me that is why I bought the rf series. just my .02 cents. ------------------ Home Theater: Yamaha RX-V1000 Klipsch RF-3's Klipsch KSC-C1(LOOKING FOR A RC-3 OR RC-3II) Klipsch Subwoofer KSW-12 Television: TOSHIBA THEATER VIEW 50" DVD Player SONY S-360 CD Changer CDC 509 5 Disc Yamaha comming soon. monster cable interconnects/12 gauge speaker wire
boa12
that ksw has a 100hz high pass filter i believe. u may want to try wiring them in parallel to the ksw (cables running directly from the 30s to the front terminals of the receiver). &/or hook the lfe in (nonfiltered) of the ksw to the jvc sub preout w/ an rca jack interconnect. ------------------ My Home Systems Page This message has been edited by boa12 on 12-30-2001 at 07:52 PM
derrick929
I have tried both ways and there is not any difference that I can tell. I agree, they are not subs but I am not all that impressed with the way they sound in my living room.
boa12
der, if u're talkin real low 1st octave (20-40hz) bass the 30s ain't got as much as the outstanding slam they have in the 2nd octave (40-80hz). mine do there anyway. have u tried running them directly connected in stereo or direct mode w/ the sub turned off in the jvc? ------------------ My Home Systems Page
RWMIN
If the Woofs don't move then there's a problem. Call Klipsch and see what they say.
derrick929
I have tried connnecting them directly with the sub off on the reciever. Changing the modes does not make any noticeable difference. I can't tell if the reciever just doesn't have any power or what. I am going to connect my old Pioneer SX-650 to them and see what happens. I know it has enough power.
M6 Driver
I have to ask so don't be offended. Are the jumpers removed from the speaker terminals? Are the binding posts secure? Wiring correct from the JVC to your 30's? I've got 2 sets of KLF 30's mated to a Yamaha RX-V995 minus a sub and I've got plenty of bass! ------------------ "FULLY LOADED" J
