marlan11
I just bought a pair of chorus 1's The speakers do not match. First I had to buy a set of new diaphragm's . Got the titanium's from bob crites. My speakers tweeters are 12 db in sound difference. It is not the amp or tweeters themselves as I have switched channels and even the tweeters themselves and the tweeters sound the same in each cabinet just at a lower level on one speaker. I can't tell for sure but the louder speakers tweeter sounds better to me. I am stuck with these speakers now and want to know what center to use? I was told klf c7 or heresy ??? I would lean toward the heresy if they match with chorus. Does anyone else have a different take on this. Marlan ps. I have cdt 3650 ceiling speakers in the back

dougdrake
Marlan - You didn't mention if you'd tried switching positions of the two speakers - move the one currently in position A to where the other one is, and vice verse, and see if the db difference follows the speaker. I don't know if the surrounding acoustics would cause 12db of variation, but the surroundings can have a large affect on perceived volume at the listening position. As for a matching center, the correct match would be an Academy.
marlan11
Thanks doug i'll try that. Is the Academy speaker anygood! Marlan
Frzninvt
The Academy would be the best choice, a KV-3 or KG 2.2V would be a compromise but workable option.
33klfan
I just purchased chorus II's and my sc-1 sounded terrible, so i ended up going with the klf-c7. I haven't compared it to an academy or anything, but from what i can tell, it blends very well. It sounds seamless. It has a very nice smooth warm sound. I recommend it 100%. marlan11
Thanks alot everyone for replying to this question. I think academy or klf c7 right now would be my choices. Maybe a heresy? marlan
merk
I'm running Chorus II's with a KLF-C7 and it's a great match! The academy is overpriced in my opinion...
