I have the option to pick one up for pretty cheap so I'm wondering what peoples experiences and such are with it. I'm going to be running it with Heresy I's. rtomas Posted November 23, 2007 Share Posted November 23, 2007 I have a Marantz 2245 driving a pair of Heresy's and I really enjoy the sound. The Marantz 22XX receivers put out some sold bass and that really helps out the bass-shy Heresy's - especially with the loudness button on at low volumes. It sealed the deal for me after he said he got it cleaned last year after saying the pots were scratchy on volume changes. Going to pick it up Sunday night after I get back to school. The guy I bougtht it from was the original owner and he definitely took care of it. Sounds as good as anything I've heard in recent memory. The case is beautiful, just got all the pots and such cleaned last year. Very little noise when switching source and what not. No bulbs burnt out or anything. I feel like I got pretty lucky. Only problem is I couldn't plug my sub into the pre out, for some reason it kinda popped when I did (sub turned way down no worries) so I guess it'll be through the B speakers that I'll run it. Could it be that a ground noise from the sub is coming from the receiver or could it be the less than stellar interconnects? Any thoughts? The walnut on the one I just got is nearly unblemished, only a small amount of glue on the top, but other than that a great looking and sounding receiver.
