ez2bking
I have just purchased a pair of Heresy III to replace my Bose 901's. I am using these as fronts for my 5 channel set-up. My issue is the best location for my Heresy III's are in front of floor/wall heating unit registers. I'm looking for suggestions on spacing from wall and height for possible stands. Groomlakearea51
Welcome to the Forum! Certainly keep them away from the heat. Along the wall, but on the floor as per Klipsch recommends. That being said... I have my Heresy's up on bookshelves.... Apparently there is a loss of bass, etc. Then again I'm old, gray, my hearing is allegedly not what it used to be, etc., and I can't really tell much difference. IMHO... Speakers on the floor, especially Heresy's, if you have children, can be an accident waiting to happen.
oldbuckster
I use a 6" stand, but I also use a sub ............. Heresy's (without a sub) should be on the floor, about 6" to 8" out from wall ... Please remember all rooms are different, what works in my room, might not work in yours. As far as the heating ducts, use deflectors to move hot air away from your speakers. Corners are good if you can use them ............. ez2bking
Does it make a difference if the vents have the air directed to the floor versus directing up? Sub usage is not an issue. Outlaw LFM-1 EX sub is on it's way.
Islander
Klipsch sells angled risers made specifically for the Heresy speakers to put them at an ideal height and angle and they're not very expensive.
oldbuckster
Don't all H3's come with angled risers? ........... I haven't seen a pair that didn't ......... If you have an Outlaw sub on the way, you can raise them higher if you want. I bet they will sound sweet with the sub...... as far as the hot air pointed down, simple, hot air rises anyway !!!!!!!!!!
