chacal
Have a set of Khorns and some decisions need to be made in the near future: a) Center speaker....no room for a Belle or LaScala, so can anyone tell me (who has actually heard the two) which sound better or would sound better with the big horns: the KLF-C7 or the newer RC-7? I was considering using an older set of Heresy II's but I'm concerned that the big difference in efficincy between the HII's and the Khorns might be a problem. Any and all input is appreciated! Surrounds.....which ones will voice the closest with the Khorns? The surrounds and rears will both be wall-mounted. I remain grateful to Klipsch and all of the members of this board for their input. I'd really be lost without it! Thanks, Len
JohnA
Heresies of about the same vintage as your K-horns will be the best match for all positions. I don't know about the typical A/V receiver, but my Pre/Pro has a 70 dB adjustmant range on speaker level. The efficiency diffeence would not be a problem. boomer9911
I have 2 Horns front, 2 La Scalas(rs), 2 Hersey II's(s) and using 2 KLF-C7's for c and rc....I have no complaints....mind you I rotate from 7.1 with Hersey II's to 6.1 with additional C7....and several Marantz MA700 mono blocks for added protection..... catfish1966
Gave 3 channel an honest chance after reading varoius posts. One Forte II flanked by Chorus II's, I love it. Didn't think I would due to lack of separation but it's not an issue, there's plenty. Don't think I'll go back to two channel. You might want to try 3 channel before pumping out the cash for a surround system. I've read, at times Paul Klipsch used a H with the Horns for three channel at audio shows/presentations. Also read he also used a Cornwall or Belle but a Heresy should work perfectly as John stated and the the lower efficiency could be a plus. I have the volume level set lower for my center speaker which is easily done with my integrated tube amp. Center channel at same volume as left and right just didn't sound right (to me). You can run 3 channel off a two channel amp. I remember seeing a "Dope from Hope" post on 3 channel with schematics. Fish
