scarlette33
I just got a pair of RF 82s,I have a RC 52 center and I am thinking about upgrading to a RC 62. Just wondering if I would be gaining that much better sound or just stick with what I got.
Moderators Youthman Posted February 29, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 29, 2008 The first time I heard the RC-82's it was at Best Buy and they had the RC-52 setup with it (which is not the correct center for the RF-82). To me, it could not keep up with the demands of the movie we were watching. It sounded weak and did not have the "in your face" sound I was looking for. I have listened to the RC-62 in a home theater store and I liked it much better and the RC-64 was just absolutely amazing. This could be due to the fact that BB had the system running off a Yamaha AVR and the home theater store had them running off the same Yamaha receiver but had it hooked up to a 200 w/ch amp. I've never been fond of 5 1/4 in speakers for a center channel.
jimmy4300
I also bought my RF-82s from BestBuy. Since they don't carry the RC-62, I bought it from an internet reseller. Try and listen to the RC-62 with your speakers, If you can hear a difference, upgrade, if not stay with what you got. But, IMO, you will hear the difference.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Lou
Moderators Youthman Posted March 1, 2008 Moderators Share Posted March 1, 2008 Since they don't carry the RC-62 That makes no sense to me. Why does BB carry the RF-82 and hook it up to the RC-52 and not even carry the RC-62.

Moderators Youthman Posted March 1, 2008 Moderators Share Posted March 1, 2008 They also carry the RF-62. Yeah, I guess they think that if they just hook up the best Klipsch that they have together it will sound the best. I'm sure there is a reason why they do not carry the RC-62....who knows. Arky
Buy the best center you can afford within the same Klipsch series.
