jimmy4300
Pun intended! Why do people use a Y-Cable for the LFE Signal from a receiver with one sub RCA out from the receiver. At least the Klipsch manual states to use the left RCA input for the LFE signal from the receiver, and both the left and right for inputs from a pre-amp. Is the "Y" an advantage? My RW-12D seems to be working just fine with a single shielded cable.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Lou
CECAA850
Some subs benefit from the summing of the signals that Y adapter gives in helping turn the auto on function in the sub amp on.
IndyKlipschFan
Some pre amps have sub outs 1,2,3, too. Better to have more of a signal assuming it is not too hot (distorted) to your sub. THX is recommending 4 subs now.. might be 5-6 in the future... IMO.. properly set up it is awesome!
askbob1
my sub cable came with a y-adapter. i also have a rw-12d. i tried it with and without the y adapter in the loop. as on my last sub, it increased the output of the sub quite a bit. it basically made it louder by increasing the input signal, but without any added distortion. not sure if you are looking to make your sub any 'louder', but that is what i've experienced. CECAA850
A Y cable can't increase the total output that the sub is capable of. In essence, using a Y is the same thing as using a single cable and turning up the signal in your receivers sub output. The sub amp simply sees a higher input signal. askbob1
yes. it essentially increased the signal level the sub receives.

oldbuckster
6 dbs. more output from sub .... plus, some will say it activates the auto-on quicker when both rca's used !!!!!!!!!
