meagain
I think they sound pretty darned good though I've not much to compare to. Husband is at the Indy 500 with his Shure EC4's. There's a Shure EC3 laying around here but I can't find them. All I have here are Sony's and they're freekishly horrid. Tonight or tomorrow I'll be able to compare to the Shures. I bought the Image because I can't stand anything in my ears. Everything hurts, though I admit to never playing around with eartips much. The Image are pretty comfy! I also bought the Image because I know I would have little patience for installing/removing the Customs and wanted something lightweight/easy peasy for gardening, etc. I tried all the tips many times over last night and still am a bit unsure. I first thought the double-flange made the most sense visually but they are squishier to me. Especially at the tip. Right now it looks like the small singles are for me. Or a wash between small & med? It's going to take me months to figure it out. Wish I had the Custom-3's here to compare! Might get those for my hubby and ditch all the others laying around here. Unfortunately, it's already looking like he's going to steal my Image. Yeah, will probably need those Custom-3's in da house. Few things..... The cord. Wish it was shorter for 'me' and iPhone. Not sure what to do with all this extra cord. I would also die and go to heaven if the cord had the cool little iPhone 'thingy' (button & mic) so I can answer calls, pause, skip tracks. IF that ever becomes available..... would it be ridiculous to hope either I could send it in for a cord swap? I guess I'd just have to sell & rebuy probably. Listening to Porcupine Tree's 'Fear of a Blank Planet' - 'My Ashes'..... Sounds fantastic. Gorgeous song/great album.
TheEvan
I just tuck the extra cord in my clothes. Sometimes you'll be glad to have the extra length. I, like you, haven't used an IEM, but this suits me very well. It's mah-velous for travel...
meagain
I see the Image cord is shorter than these Shure E3c (which I can't try cuz husband has the fugly adaptor). I was wondering though.... it would be nice to be able to OPTIONALLY have the ear wire. I wonder if one (like on the Customs) could be made where one could insert the tail of the Image into a 'clip' at the bottom of the wire much like one inserts a mic in a mic stand? Then maybe 2 little clips on the wire to clip the cord to. Hmm... let me think. I'm trying to figure out a way to get the cord over my ear 'somehow' securely. Out of the way when needed. meagain
OK - Compared the Image to the Shure e4c. The Shures suck. No bass. No comparison. Instantly noticeable. Yes I had a great seal. Husband, who's been using the Shures almost every day referred to the e4c as "like AM radio" compared to the Image. He also liked the comfort of the Image of course. I started to delve into the non-bass territory but felt "why bother?". Plus I had to get the Shures out of my ears. I told him "you're going to be stealing the Klipsch from me aren't you", he said "probably". I REALLY want to hear the Custom 3's now. We'll likely get those or another Image so we can each have our own pair and sell all these other non-Klipsch laying around here which I now know just plain suck. dgoreck
Cord is to long for you, but to short for me. Go figure.
