Guest " "
you looking to stay in tubes...SS, hybrid, etc? Are all SET's out or just the one you have? What about biamping, SET on top and something else on bottom?
fenderbender
Just MY Opionion ( thats not worth to much).......I have some very nice Crites recapped Cornwall I's and I recently picked up a used and not that abused Sansui AU 7900 circa 1976 ish that is rocking my world!!!! Craigslist find $225 ...I also have a Au11000 that is unbelievable !!!!!!! something about the cornwalls and a good quaility SS (there's plenty of nice tube setups also) that really does it for me!!!! kentamcolin
I too am looking to replace a 3 watt SET with something more powerful. The SET amp sounds wonderful but just not enough volume for really jamming. I'm actually thinking of giving a Trends digital amp a try. bliss53
I have a creek A52 se modified amp and a cayin A50t tube amp. There is no comparison with my quartets. The tubes deliver a rich defined midrange that can not be matched by the creek. The creek is quicker and the overall response is good but the tubes are more musical. I will test both amps with my rebuilt cornwalls in the next couple of weeks. I am expecting the same comparison only on a bigger scale. I was unable to listen before the rebuild because the tweeters were blown.
jacksonbart
Not yet but I would love to hear your review. Cornwalls are designed for good solid state amp and pre-amp combo.
