boom3
Again, thanks Jim. This last paper brings this question to mind:If a corner loudspeaker excites all the room eigentones, then it must excite all the possible room transients as well. When I first had my Corns, I found that a lot of stuff rattled that had never rattled with my prior speakers, direct radiators with two 12s in each box. http://scitation.aip.org/getpdf/servlet/GetPDFServlet?filetype=pdf&id=JASMAN000010000003000258000004&idtype=cvips&prog=normal Think of attending this meeting...Bolt, Kellogg, H.H. Scott, Olson, Salmon...wow!
DrWho
It's interesting how similar a lot of that content is to classical control systems theory. Good reading [Y]
WMcD
Jim, thanks, as always, for the articles. A long time ago I posted an article by Nelson Pass. It may have been before one of the forum crashes. He mentioned that in response to the TIM analysis he tested many recordings for a transients (slew rates) which would be of a magnitude to drive an amp to TIM. He could not find any. Of course that was in the days of LPs. OTOH, he is probably the leading advocate of fewer stages and minimal feedback. Wm McD
