flatgrass
I am in the market for a speaker switch and have boiled it down to either a Russound AB 2.2 or a Niles DPS-1. The Russound has the detachable connectors with screw downs which I have seen. I can't find a rear view of the Niles. What type of connectors do they use? (anyone have an old photo?) Thanks, kevin
garymd
Hit the "additional views" button: http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=862 No detachable screws. I have one and it works great. I use 12 gauge although it recommends 14.
flatgrass
Ahh. There is the back side. Thanks. I know I may be over thinking this, but. Are the insertion points spring-tension, or screw-down? JR has these for $70 plus shipping.
garymd
They're spring-loaded. They work great and the build quality is excellent. A lot of folks here use them. Only downside is you can fit only about 1/4" length of wire in the hole. If you really want to over-think it, take a trip to Ellicott City and check mine out. flatgrass
GaryMD, Thanks again. Just wanting to know how delicate it was. Off to go ahead and put an order through. (another piece of my ever changing puzzle)
USNRET
If interested I have a couple of these left over. I use a wall wart 12vdc power supply in the switched outlet on one and a 12 vdc trigger on the other for control. http://www.nilesaudio.com/images/PDF/SPK-1_manual.pdf My main use is to have my Belles in use for the HT fronts powered by the Denon AVR and when I chose to listen to The McIntosh the same Belles are my stereo apeakers. Also 1 or 2 of these http://www.nilesaudio.com/images/PDF/AC-3_Cutsheet.pdf
flatgrass
Wow. Ordered yesterday from JR. Was under the steps today when I got home. Spring loaded, but you screw down the connection. Straight forward. Have wire to measure, trim, and strip. Thanks for all input.
