Danely15
I know I know... we all get sick of these wire questions. Order a couple of new speakers the other day and saw braided speaker wire... was told it cancels out noise.... speakers will be surrounds and am upgrading to 12 or 13 awg and was wondering if i should waste my time and mone with the braided stuff or just get monoprice.com wire for in wall wiring. Thanks. Daniel
jamesV
If you want braided then get the Monoprice wire and cut it down the middle and braid it yourself. I doesn't make a difference, is this for an in wall wire run? 12 awg will be more then enough. James
Danely15
Yes in wall. when i say braided i mean there is a third wire in the mix that suppossedly cancels out interference. the third wire doesnt connect to anything.
Guest " "
" was told it cancels out noise...." you were told the truth....all speaker wire that uses a side by side approach cancels noise...but since there's no amplification on the recieving end (your speakers) the effectiveness of the cancellation based on the various possible approaches is not significant. The various approaches include side by side wires...twisted wires...braided wires...multiple side by side (ribbon ) wires, multiple stran shielded, solde core shielded, etc, etc, etc
Islander
Here's some inexpensive twisted pair speaker wire in sizes from 8awg to 16awg:http://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaster.cfm?category=Karma%20SS%20Speaker%20Kable
