  1. Looks like you anyone should be able to get AT LEAST $300 for a used backward compatible model. I have seen them NIB for $1000.
  2. From what i understand ps3 are no longer backward compatible. Technology cost too much and sony need a way to drop price to compete with other systems. Backwards combatible was their big selling point but i am pretty sure they dont do that anymore. And yours is worth alot of money... Check out ebay on backward compatible models, sell it if you dont use the feature and get a new one that will play your netflix disc and put some cash in your pocket!
  3. its been doing since i got it together... bout a year ago. Havent done the calibration. ill give it a try tomorrow. thanks
  4. I love my setup(see below), yet i have some problems. Mainly when watching movies the dialog is ard to hear. Everyting else is plenty loud. ive had to turn down the bass and turn up the center here and there... doesnt really solve the problem though. Wood floors, big room... not the ideal room i guess. It has vaulted ceiling, 27.5x17.5 listening position is appx 13ft away from short wall. most "regular" tv sounds fine, and music sounds great. i usaully just deal with it, but i went to a friends house that has a synergy setup, different room and everything but it just sounded amazing. what gives? suggestions? i have metal miniblinds on the back wall windows, thought about switching those out. my gf is always asking"what did they say" during the movie... gets old. thanks for the help. Daniel
  5. I seem to have the same problem.... i think it might be the sound card in computer. Not sure though. Have you tried hooking up ipod direct to reciever? Daniel
  6. My SW-15II always does this with louder than "normal" volume. I can always tell when my roommate has been messing with my system! just figured it was the bass and wood floor. didnt think something could be loose.
  7. I was at ultimate electronics and tried these new over ears called beats by dr. dre. i know i know... but klipsch doesnt have any to test (not that i would in ear) anyway.... they were very impressive.
  8. I am one of those guests most of the time. See it is easier, faster, and safer for me to just be looking at work and the be able to just close out the window need be. sssshhhhhh! Daniel
  9. Thanks for all the input. Im on my way to hardware store to pick up the oil. Think ill do a couple of before after pics and see if there is a noticible difference in there appearance. Daniel
  10. What is the best way to clean my corns? One grill is dirty, both woofers seem to have dust all over them, and the cabinets themselves need a good oiling. They are oiled oak. Ive tried to pull the grills off but no luck..... didnt pull to hard at all. didnt want to mess anything up. Any tips or advice. Ive seen people talk about different oil but there is always someone else saying that certain oils will turn colors. Thanks in advance. Daniel

  13. Ok so my friend has a synergy set up.... F3 C2 or 3. and S2. had an old sony 5ch (barely) receiver. sounded alright. He just got a denon 1908.Im familiar with it. and the Sub 12 from hhgregg. hooked up receiver and everything. Center channel has a hum just when on cable. Have tried different audio jacks on receiver. still a hum. Switched cable boxes. still a hum. Ive heard a hum on subs but never on center. also we have to turn gain way down on sub so it doesnt hum... just on cable. dvd and ps2 are just fine. Any advice? the sub doesnt have a ground prong. either does cable box. so dont think it is a ground loop. Please help. Daniel
  14. All very good remarks. I was laughing the whole time. Ill get some pics of her and some of my set up. She is hot. So are my Klipsch speakers! Thanks for the "help" guys.we are going to go look this afternoon. Ill let you know how it turns out. Daniel
  15. Me and my gf of 4 years have been argueing over a couch in the den. She wants one and i want a theater style slightly curved 5 seat reclining chairs, all connected. She wants to be able to lay down and watch tv... i want to sit in the middle position and enjoy my speakers! It is my house and she just moved in about a month ago... should i move her out til i get the money for the seating then she cant do anything about it? lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Im only 26 and this is relatively new to me. Thanks in advance. Daniel
  16. If thats the only reason you want 7.1 then go with the denon. Ive got one that is great. It has "multi zone" so my outdoor speakers i can listen to the radio while people inside are watching a movie. Just an example. So many other things it can do. Daniel
  17. I am fairly new to the forum however i do remeber seeing OB's posts all the time when i first joined. Always informative. He answered a question of mine at least once. It will be strange not seeing his avatar on a regular basis. RIP Daniel

  19. Yes in wall. when i say braided i mean there is a third wire in the mix that suppossedly cancels out interference. the third wire doesnt connect to anything.
  20. I know I know... we all get sick of these wire questions. Order a couple of new speakers the other day and saw braided speaker wire... was told it cancels out noise.... speakers will be surrounds and am upgrading to 12 or 13 awg and was wondering if i should waste my time and mone with the braided stuff or just get monoprice.com wire for in wall wiring. Thanks. Daniel
  21. Got a house that has two paradigm in-ceiling speakers in a small living room. Looks like they used to be in the den. there is what looks to be some sort of infared volume nob in living room. the wires have been pulled up into attic. Question is are they any good and would it be worth using them to complete a 7.1 system? I cant figure out how the volume nob would work. Any info is appreciated. Daniel
  22. Damn near same thing happened to one cornwall. After i unsoldered, and searched and search for replacements, i ordered new ones from klipsch. they are fatter.... so i had to drill out the holes on the crossover but it wasnt to bad. looks better than radio shack or something and they are klipsch products.
  23. What are the "best" general settings for a sw 15 II? The three knobs on the sub itself. Thanks in advance. Daniel
