I know I know... we all get sick of these wire questions. Order a couple of new speakers the other day and saw braided speaker wire... was told it cancels out noise.... speakers will be surrounds and am upgrading to 12 or 13 awg and was wondering if i should waste my time and mone with the braided stuff or just get monoprice.com wire for in wall wiring. Thanks.

" was told it cancels out noise...."

you were told the truth....all speaker wire that uses a side by side approach cancels noise...but since there's no amplification on the recieving end (your speakers) the effectiveness of the cancellation based on the various possible approaches is not significant.

The various approaches include side by side wires...twisted wires...braided wires...multiple side by side (ribbon ) wires, multiple stran shielded, solde core shielded, etc, etc, etc
