When we visited Valerie's house she gave out those books and STAMPED Paul's signature on them. So I have the book and mine has a stamp. This was in 2007. There was probably 20 of us in her house and I am pretty sure we all got them. Long time ago.
Edit: Well I went and looked in my book and I have made a mistake. Mine has a "Valerie Klipsch" stamped signature...........not a Paul Klipsch stamp. I looked through the book and that's all there is. So back then, that is what she did that day we visited. I do rememeber her stamping my book. I just never really looked closely at what it was.

Having Pro setups for many years myself and rotating MANY preamps and amps of different types both home audio, pro audio, tubes and s/s.........I can't say enough about the value of very good electronics (including the source electronics). It makes all the difference in the world concerning reproducing the micro detail in the source.
These big multi-channel systems really respond well to very good electronics.

If you want to buy my MCM setup let me know. I would sell it to you Richard. But you have to take the subs too.
-
Well I have the 4-way MCM plus 684 subs, and forum member JWC has the KP-600s + 684 subs which I have heard several times.
Apples vs. oranges, but.......... KP-600s all the way as far as powerhouse system that can do it all. JWC has told me a few times that my MCM has more detail than his KP-600 setup. To me, the KP-600s have it all. Nothing missing. Nothing more to desire.

I have a couple of DBX 1231 EQs in "as new" condition if you are interested.

Could a 510 support the weight of a TAD 4002 driver when used as a tweeter above the 402 with no other support than the mounting baffle?

My K Horns from the 80s had Monster wire connecting the top and bass bin, and zip cord inside. Audiophile approved cause in true Audiophile fashion, they cant figure out how to use a screwdriver.
Now THAT was the stuff that turned green. Mine were 1990s when there were no terminal strips and the speaker wire from each driver was soldered directly to the networks. My monster cable turned green.

It looks like its about $36 + tax for 50 foot roll of 14 gauge, $39 for 12 gauge (cerrowire brand made in usa) at HD, is it really cheaper than bulk zip cord by the foot ?
Well to be fair I said it was cheaper than speaker wire which can get pricey. 🙂

The low voltage outdoor lighting power cord at lowes and Home Depot had exactly the same 12 ga. stranding as the 12 ga. speaker wire and was a fraction of the cost. Also has a very durable jacket as it is meant to be buried.

I had the same issue with risky forward tilt on my 402 setups. I removed the front brackets (that don't bend) and installed door hinges from Home Depot. Look and work just fine. Can tilt safely forward/backward without fear of breaking the horn plastic.

Agreed. I don't mind paying a little for a decent service that gives me and my customers some protection -- and F&F is always there is they're comfortable with it.
The problem is the ridiculous eBay selling fees. Yikes.
Sure. If they don't feel comfortable with F&F it's my asking price "net" to me. So they get the PAYPAL protection and THEY pay the fee. No issue. It is still free to me, and good for them.
Ebay has gotten out of hand with the seller fees. Agreed.

What's wrong with PAYAPL? I get paid via family and friends, and immediately transfer it to my bank account. I pay nothing. It is also an excellent and very secure way to pay others and buy products. I don't see the issue.
I have had deals go bad and PAYPAL got me my money back every single time.
My kids like Venmo and I use that too. Basically PAYPAL for kids.

Were these built by Gary Shinall?

When I installed the new JEM caps in my cornwalls I remounted the woofers using T-nuts from the front of the cabinets. All the bolts were loose and stripped and just in the wood. They are original woofers from 1973 and still sound really good. I may have done a rotation previously once but I can't remember. Maybe a good idea for a K33 that old?
-
Yes the alnico tweeters are original both out of 1977 lascalas many serial numbers apart. They were singles I had purchased.
-
I replaced the drivers with the the newer square back.........reused the horns. Long story. But these are good functioning alnico tweeters.
Look down a few pages and you'll see the new horns I took the square drivers off of.

I have two of those drivers (no horns) available now in the garage sale. Would fix you up cheap.
