I have never built a HT before, and I very much a newbie. So far I have picked out these parts ( I have not bought anything yet) SVS PB2-ISD ~$900.00 (dual 12in 600watt amp) RSX-5 ~$150.00 (75 watts continuous, 300 peak) RSX-5 ~$150.00 (75 watts continuous, 300 peak) RSX-5 ~$150.00 (75 watts continuous, 300 peak) RSX-5 ~$150.00 (75 watts continuous, 300 peak) RSX-5 ~$150.00 (75 watts continuous, 300 peak) RSX-5 ~$150.00 (75 watts continuous, 300 peak) RCX-4 ~$200.00 (75 watts continuous, 300 peak) which leaves me about a grand for a receiver/preamp processor and amp Also, I need to figure out some wall mounts for the rear speakers, I know the promedia ones are cheap and if they fit these then thats perfect. I cant the big boy speakers because I dont have that kind of money, nor will my 30x17 room permit it, well... even if it will, my neighbors wont, lol. I would like to ask the experts here what is the appropriate receiver or amp I can get for this approach? I looked at some of those Aragons and though they elite, the price doest.

I would like to see a review of the new RX speakers (RCX-4, RSX-4 and RSX-5)and how they compare to bo$e. I have not seen em in person but they look compact and definitely win in the style department. Im considering doing a HT with the RX speakers, as a studet i cant afford the bigboys, but besides that I really like the style of RX speakers. However I might cheat and get an SVS sub =P and not the RW

Subs:2 RSW 15(have one) and 2 SVS 16-46CS+(none) ...might want to get earthquake insurance.

sorry, I dont have an SWS's either and i will try to get some once my ultras ship next week, only problem is finding some money. I got the ultras for null but the sws's will cost 400 bucks for 3 which is I guess an ok deal. I know there are better subs for that money but I dont want to vibrate my heatsink off my CPU, lol, plus the sws are highly compatable and match.

you mean 8.2, or are you going to throw out the second sub. this system might sound very bad, I set up the 5.1's with the 2.1's for 7.2 and sounded ok, but each system sounded better alone, just not as loud.

I am considering one for my pc, its between promedia 5.1 ultra system coming out sept 15 or the the new RW, RX series speaker with a real receiver. Im wondering can the RW-12 can have as much volume as the new promedia ultra sub with some SWS subs, Im sure the rw will hit much lower freq. but the promedia system will probably hit over 118-120db with all the SWS subs. obviously the R's will cost a lot more, so i guess im asking is it worth it?

I mean, at what point does the base because ridicules? I was thinking about getting 3 of them, but i mean 16 has to be too much! What is the ideal. I use my speakers for parties often at UCSB, noice is not a problem, We have people with comerical grade speakers in every other house.
