  1. $179 for a 120 gig HD, what a ripoff
  2. The DTS intro for Saving Pvt. Ryan is pretty sweet.
  3. Xbox.com is now advertising the 'Elite.' No ad-ons for the current 360 as of yet.
  4. with the release of the 'elite' 360, I want M$ to put out an HDMI adaptor for the regular version of the 360.
  5. I wouldn't buy a 120gig HD for 100$ though. I would love a larger HD but not at that price. You can newegg a 250gig HD for 60$
  6. They just need to make an adaptor for HDMI for the regular 360. 20 gigs of HD space is plenty if you are just using the 360 for gaming.
  7. Anyone recommend a nice wall mount preferably one that tilts for a ~50" plasma?
  8. The TH-50PH9UK comes standard with PC Input, Audio Input (for PC), Serial Control (RS-232C) Input, BNC Component Video/RGB Input and Audio Input, BNC Composite Video Input, S-Video Input, and Audio Input (for Video). There is an available slot for an optional terminal board. Or, you can remove the standard boards and mount up to three optional boards. It doesn't come standard with HDMI, which kind of sucks, but you can add it for about $130, like what was posted earlier.
  9. Amazon.com has the 50" monitor for less than $1700 from Ritz Camera http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-TH-50PH9UK-50-Plasma-HDTV/dp/B000HAWAL0/ref=pd_bbs_sr_7/103-1387235-1180665?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1174670885&sr=8-7 The 50" TV is about $200 more. Is the picture quality better for the monitor than the TV?
  10. 5 year warranty would be nice, but I am still looking to get a Plasma TV not a monitor. Even though the monitor may be a great option, when I get the HD box. I still like the versitility that a TV offers. Also the TV speakers, they may be not that great, but I do not feel like firing up the surround sound every time I want to watch a TV show. I think the HDMI connection you can purchase separately for about 130$ or so. Thanks for the suggestion.
  11. So, I've decided to ditch the DLP idea and go another route. I am moving in less than 2 months and would love to get rid of my old 47" rear projection tv. I want to definately buy a plasma. I am looking at 50" models. 1366x768 resolution considering 1080p models are just so damn expensive. I was thinking either this Panasonic model TH-50PX600U or something comperable to it in Pioneer. Every place I go to research these online give the advantage to Panasonic. But every store I go to they recommend the Pioneer model over the panny any day. I was in BB today and looked at the TH-50PX600U that they had in the Magnolia section and also looked at a Pioneer PDP-5071HD. They were in 2 separate sections so I couldn't really compare side by side of the 2 screens. But what I did notice was that the Pioneer did seem to have a distinctively sharper and more colorful image when compared to another panasonic model, the TH-50PX60U. Sure the T 1/2 may only be 60k hrs, but 60k hrs is a lot. I definately want something relatively cheap ie. under $2500, also something ~50" in size. Any help on brands in the plasma area?
  12. Most of the newer DLP's ive been researching has 2-2.5ms response times.
  13. Allright, taken into consideration. I think I may just wait out until it gets into this summer before I make a decision. It seems like any DLP tv has come down in price substantially. I would really like to get an LCD or Plasma, but Ill just do a bit more research. I just checked the ads this morning and noticed a few SXRD's on sale. I know of a couple of placed near me that would let me demo whatever I want, so Ill check into that. Thanks a bunch for all the suggestions.
  14. Viewing angle isn't really that much of a problem because the places to sit are at least 12 ft away. While it would be nice to go LCD or Plasma, keep in mind I want at least 50", it just is not really practical since I will be spending probably less than 1800$ tax included.
  15. Image lag isn't really of concern, the sets im looking at had a 2.5ms response time. But that is a good idea, I do want to check which TV would look best with the 360, also knowing which inputs are truely 1080p are important as well. Yes, a 1080p set might not be practical today, but who knows what the future would bring? I am not about to replace a TV every few years, I at least want to hold on to one that would embrace the future. Sure when I bought my 480p set they did refer it to HD, its not the case now. Thanks for the comments
  16. Ok, this is a silly question, but I've been looking at this 1080p set at BB for such a long time, and I will be moving to a new place in a couple of months and would love to get rid of my rear projection Panasonic 47" ED 480p tv. Any thoughts on this 56" JVC HD-ILA DLP projection TV? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7699038&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050031&id=1138084693851 or the 61" http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7699092&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050031&id=1138084694149 My buddy works at BB and I can get a sweet deal on them. How does the JVC compare to say, the Sony SXRD, etc. I'd mainly be using it for regular TV, HD probably, I also play some Xbox360 when I can and definately watch a bunch of movies. No I do not have Blu-Ray but might be picking up an HD player. Any opinions?
  17. It would work though the J-Cup adaptor that utilizes the headphones plug. I don't know if the plug for the ipod is the same for the zen.
  18. I have a function on my tv that changes the way my speakers on the TV work in relation to my connected HT. I just go into the audio options on my tv and change to either variable audio out or fixed audio out. Both of these functions turns off the speakers on the TV, but allows the audio out on the TV which is connected to a pre-amp to be played though my HT either variable (volume adjustable though the tv remote) or fixed (audio only adjustable though the HT receiver). Hopefully this may help some.
  19. I am thinking of ordering either an iGroove or iGroove HG for myself. Is the only difference between the two the color? If not, is it worth it to get the HG? Do they have 2nd generation 4GB iPod Nano docks available for each? Thanks in advance.
  20. The Promedia 4.1 satellites run at 80 watts with a minimum impedance of 4ohms per satellite speaker. Your amplifier runs 600-100watts per channel with 8ohms of impedance. Im don't think that the extra wattage would be good for the speakers in any way, but i am not sure what the outcome would be if you did do that. Probably just put a little more strain on the speakers and make them be a little louder and more distorted than normal, but thats about it i think.
  21. I know, can't wait for the xbox360 release, i'm not about to buy a ps2 for 1 game.
  22. I am pretty sure he is talking about the Synergy (SF-3) floorstander and the C-3 center. http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/f-3-home-theater-system.aspx I am not really sure if going for the top Synergy product would be worth the cost of the mid Reference one. http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rf-62-home-theater-system.aspx the MSRP values of Synergy 3 is $2130 the Reference 62 is $2644 for the entire system. Anyone else's input on the matter?
  23. It kind of sucks, that they cannot order anything other than what is carried by them. So if you want the rf-83's or an rc-64 you'll have to go elsewhere.
