  1. Exactly. Just like an ordinary connection. if you're not into bi-wiring/bi-amping thing, just use one set of speaker wire terminals.
  2. Yes, Bi-wiring brought back to life! I've read a bi-wiring article in a certain X-brand speaker site claiming that their bi-wirable speakers x-over were engineered with completely separate hi-pass and low-pass sections...it also says -"the effects of bi-wiring are not subtle. The improvements are large enough that a bi-wire set of moderately priced cable will usually sound better than a single run of more expensive cable". Since i'm not familiar of it, i wonder if klipsch engineers did the same with all of their so-called bi-wirable speakers' crossover(s)...or they just put those extra posts at the back of the speakers for marketing purposes?
  3. Thanks for all the feedback guys. Uh oh, there's a great debates out there (not only at klipsch forum) regarding this bi-wiring thing.i guess it's best to try it myself with my own speakers and hear it with my own ears..and my ears be the judge(s)...and whatever i may find out i'll be still happy cause I'm one of those proud owner of a klipsch speakers

    Foams

Let's put it this way, when you talk with your mouth's full(of food of course), the sound will be muffled or dead. So in my opinion the foam should not be loose and not blocking the air/sound passage coming from the drivers down to the port's opening.
  5. Get an M-Audio Revolution soundcard. And please do get a real PC speakers...
  6. Guys, to bi-wire or not? Is there any obvious sound improvement of a bi-wired speaker over the one that's not?

    Foams

Thanks for your feedbacks, guys. These clarified the matter. By the way, mine is "neatly" (no flip-flopping) sets at bottom and sidewalls near the port opening. From the port's mouth and up it's clear except some dangling wires which, i think, should be pasted.

    Foams

Skonopa, Thanks for the second opinion. "Dampening" - that's the term. i've been hearing/reading about this before but still i wonder if klipsch have put those foam paddings when they ship their NEW speakers.

    Foams

when setting up my new pair of rf-25s i discovered foams neatly place (inside) near the ports opening. is this normal to all klipsch ref. series. my synergys have none
  11. Try auditioning some of these recs with your system...in the end your ears will be the best judge.
  12. Got my new RF-25. What you guys think the best match center speaker for it - RC-25 or RC 35.
  13. Alright then....I can now enjoy the SOUND minus the "bad" thoughts Thanks!
  14. got my pair of RF-25s from the Good Guys yesterday and then tonight i noticed the serial # are not the same. The salesman even delivered my purchase at my doorsteps unfortunately I didnt notice the thing right away. I'd like to think that i got a 100% brand new speakers but the "unmatched S/N" still bothers me. Before calling the store tomorrow i would like to hear from you guys - a little bit of your opinion about this...mismatching!

Thanks, anyone can reply! ---------------- DVI (Digital Visual Interface) The new kid on the HDTV connection block (some might call it the neighborhood bully), DVI is a one-way jack that's used to route digital bitstreams from a set-top box to a video display. Physically, it looks like a bigger version of VGA, with a D-shaped connector housing a formation of 18 pins. DVI connections transmit signals in uncompressed form. Since no consumer video decks are capable of recording uncompressed high-def programs, this means no copying. The Hollywood studios, which pushed hard to include DVI jacks on HDTVs, like that ideaa lot!although it leaves viewers who've become accustomed to time-shifting and creating personal video libraries out in the cold. Digital connections like DVI can offer potential image quality benefits, however, since they eliminate unnecessary digital-to-analog conversion steps for signals being sent to video displays. To further frustrate would-be pirates, the version of DVI found on HDTVs also employs a copy-protection scheme called HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) that was developed by computer chip-maker Intel. HDCP uses an authentication protocol to protect programs from being copied. The device on the transmitting endan HDTV satellite receiver, for examplemust first verify that the device on the receiving end is licensed to accept copy-protected content. If it is, a "hardware handshake" occurs so the program can be transmitted.(S&V mag) So much for DVI
  16. Yeah, I and my wife watch the "The Core" - it has a lot of deep and clear rumbles and booms that put your sub on test. For me, I have to turn the my sub's level coz' it shaked the wall and tripped the line where the TV's been plugged in. If not mistaken that was the scene where these "bombs" has to be detonated to "awaken" the dying core. My wife even panicked a bit for the thought that we'll going to break our glass windows. Try it for you to see, fellas!
  17. Yeah, EAR, remember when I open a thread asking about the Totem Thunder and Triad, that was it - I do subscribe Sound and Vision & HomeTheater mags and read that review long before and found the result impressive. But Here was your answer then: "Less OUTPUT and dont dig as deep as SVS or Aerial. SVS and Aerial lay a dB beating on Triad and Totem. Quality,Totem and Triad are just as good, its the output and extension that would favor SVS and Aerial in a BIG way. For smaller sats/rooms and with music Totem's Lightning is quite a sub.Just will not shake the liver the way the heavyweights do...." As I'm curious as my nick, QRUse, I would like to know then if you already had good experience with those reviewed subs...now you're buying not only one but two

  19. No - Best Buy don't carry DD 5.1. I got mine from Klipsch long time ago.

  21. Thank you guys - your replies are much appreciated! I'm having second thoughts of returning it since the subs looks new - no scratches or whatsoever and man, it sounds good too! But the thing that bothers me is the notion that i got ripped off/cheated! Now your I made up my thru' your votes I'm returning this sub tomorrow - Thanks!

I would not suspect klipsch sends out merchadise that way but people can overlook some simple things. --------------- Yeah, me too. This is my third time to buy Klipsch product and I doubt Klipsch commit that kind of mistake. Tonight, I made a close look at the box taping and noticed that the tape over the top is layered - double layered. Meaning this is a repack?

I went to the store this PM and the clerk said It must be Klipsch that made mistake in packing. Is that possible, guys - To commit such stupid mistake? I doubt!!! Tonight I'm thinking of re-returning this sub and demand a real new one - what do you think?
