  1. I want tell Thanks to Curt Singleton for the AK2 crossovers. Lorenzo.
  2. I have read that the new Cornwall III features a newly designed woofer, which is placed some 6 inches higher than before (but from the first pics it seems about 4 inches: do you know the right value?). Bass port volume is a little smaller with a slightly shorter shelf than before. Can someone tell me the dimensions of the port in a CW-III? Thanks. Lorenzo.
  3. Colin, I think a good price could be about $100.00
  4. Hi. I need a pair of AK-2 network and I hope that someone has them to sell me at a good price. Thanks in advance. Lorenzo.
  5. I have the Bob A/AA network and a Bob AK-3 and this (AK-3) is definitely better than A/AA (but I find that the AK-2 is better than A/AA, too). The AK-2 is not so bad and I like it very much (I have tried the ALK too).
  6. Thanks Malcolm, for the K77 I need: - Freq.response - impedance - efficiency
  7. I need the data sheet of the drivers K55-V and K77 (EV T-35). Thanks to can help me. Thanks. Lorenzo.
  8. I use the K55-M with the AK-3 (I have the K55-V too, but I ever have preferred the M, but now even the V sounds very good with the SM-120). I don't use any EQ and the sound seems far better than the K400 or the proviously 511B (perhaps a bit hotter but I use it only from one day). The sound seems to float in the air and less focused in the center, but it has the same beautilul midrange and is more rich in the lower mid (and no harsh), I can sound more loud now with the SM120. I have noticed that not many people have tried this horn with the Khorn, it's interesting the opinions of other users. Is the EQ absolutely necessary with this horn or can I stay without it? I have never tried the composite K401, is it better than others? Lorenzo.
  9. No. I have to install the Horn over the bass bin of the Khorn and, if I install it more (or less) forward (behind or ahead?) respect to the front of the bass-bin, the sound change a lot. I hope it is more clear. Thanks. Lorenzo.
  10. The EV SM-120 has arrived today and the sound is extremely smooth (better than the K-400), but I would know the correct distance of the mouth from the motorboard of the Khorn. Can anyone help me? Thanks. Lorenzo.
  11. I have tried for many time the K55-V and the K55-M in my Khorns (with the AK-2) and definitely the K55-M is to prefer (without any doubt). So I have modified my other Khorns (AA xo) with the AK-3 and the K55-M and them sound fabulous now. Stay with the K55-M. Lorenzo.
  12. Thank you very much for the perfect explanation. But my question now is: is the SM-120 a CD horn? Can it sound better than the K400 (what the sonic differences)? Or have I lost my money for it in a home use? Lorenzo.
  13. Excuse me but what is a "CD horn"? Can anyone explain me the meant of this word? Thanks.
  14. And recently I have bought the second pair of '76 Khorn type D (in a 11 hours trip) here in Italy at a fantastic price for my Country. Here them are very rare too. But why I don't like the AA network? Now with the BEC AK3 and the K55-M (instead of the K55-V) the Khorns sound fantastic. Lorenzo.
  15. Yes, my 511B were undampened. Thanks for the data sheet. I have bought the SM-120 on ebay and I hope I can receive them soon.
  16. I have tried many EL34 tubes in my CJ MV-50 (that I use for the bass in my Khorns) and definitely the EH-6CA7 (Fat Bottle) is the best of all.
  17. I know many Klipsch owners have tried different mid horns like 511B, Cobraflex and now the ALK Trachorn, but I would know if the SM-120 are similar in the sound to the ALK Trachorn or what can I expect from them. I tried the 511B in my Khorn and come back to the K400. Wolfram have told me that the EV SM-120 are the best mid-horns he have heard on Khorn (he have replaced the Cobraflex with these). Thanks. Lorenzo.
  18. I have tried the 511B and returned to the K400. Now I have bought an EV SM120 and when them arrives I can see if these horns are better than K400. Lorenzo.
  19. Hi. Can anyone give me the B3 schematic? I need it for my nearly completed Cornscala. I think I have only to change the mid cap (is it right?). Thanks. Lorenzo.
  20. Wolfram, can you explain the sonic differences between the two horns: the Cobraflex and the SM120?
  21. I have tried the ALK and the AA type from BEC in my '84 Khorn and I preferred the second (BEC) one. The ALK was too bright in my system.
  22. I have today tried the K55-M in place of the K55-V (in the '76 Khorn with the AA crossover) and the mids are better. I have ever thought that the 55V goes with the A or AA type and the 55M has to use with the AK series, now I know that it isn't true. It seems that the 55M is simply better than the 55V (with the spring terminals). The K77 alnico sounds better in both speakers. In the bass region I'll see, with the AK-3, if the differences are in the wood or in the network.
  23. D-Man, I have tried the new BEC's A/AA crossovers (with fresh caps) that sounds better than the old one but the general result don't change. I have tried others K55-V and K77 but without substantial differences.
  24. Ciao to all. Finally I have tried the '76 Khorn in the same place (and the same room) where I normally listen to '84 Khorn. The '76 Khorn have K55-V (spring terminal), K77 (alnico) and the AA type (I have the old original and the beautiful A/AA from BEC). The '84 Khorn have K55-M, K77-M and AK-2 type network. Well!! The best sound is definitely the '84 Khorn: more articulated bass, more body in the mid and a magic atmosphere. But with one change: the K77 (alnico) in place of K77-M (a bit bright), the '84 Khorns are the best Speaker System I have ever heard. Now I have bought the AK-3 from BEC to see if it is the best Klipsch Crossover. Has anyone compared these or other Khorn combinations?
