  1. Makes some sense now. Being in the business position he is in he: 1) Has the disposable income to put this room together. 2) Probably needs the decompression chamber. I am in the automotive business on the corporate side and I see the stress / hours, etc. these guys deal with. Good for him.
  2. WOW! Who is this guy, the Sultan of Brunei? Nice rig.
  3. Hey EAR, just the man I was looking for. Mind a couple of questions? This unit is out of production right? How long have you had yours? Any problems or issues? Are the reviews justified? Thanks a bunch.
  4. Yeah, they were pricey, thus the rave reviews I guess. I think they went out of production about 18 months ago and I have been looking for a used one. Currently going in the $2k range, but hard to find. Just thought I could get a better feel If I could get some first hand feedback from an owner. Thanks anyway.
  5. Nope, all I know is DV-AX10. Now that you bring it up, was this unit ever sold in North America through normal dealer channels? The guy I am trying to buy it from says "perfect" condition and his asking price is very reasonable.
  6. Anyone on the forum own or seen / heard one of these? I have read lots of reviews that all sing praises of the unit, but never known anyone with one. Would love a review from a forum member with one. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
  7. You can either (1) run a line to LFE in on one then run a line from from LFE out on same speaker to LFE in on the second or (2) use a splitter at the amp to run separate lines to each speaker's LFE in. If you email or im me I can fax or e-mail you a manual.
  8. Swerv, My pre-amp has an LED that lights up ONLY when LFE signal is being sent to my subs and trust me, in that scene, it is glowing brightly and almost constantly. The guy either is crazy or has his system set up in a very odd configuration.
  9. Due to corproate relocations, we have lived all over; KC, Wichita, Detroit, Dallas and now DC. We actually like the area a lot. Looks a lot like the Ozarks, trees and rolling hills. Only about a million times more traffic. I lived in Springfield until 1988. Went to Parkview High and graduated in '75. What part of town do you live in?
  10. Hey Chuck. Do you mean we live in the same town now or where the Cornwalls are? I was raised in Springfield, MO and am currently located in DC. I got the Rotel @ Audio Visions in Laurel, MD. I am very pleased with the KSP's but I am also trying to put together a 2 channel rig for my game room in the basement.
  11. Thanks Gary. I agree, no grills. They look good.
  12. Yea, the pics look good but it is hard to tell. Depending what the seller tells me in his reply, I think I will have my brother go see them tomorrow and take some pics to e-mail me. They are different looking though. How are the velcro strips held on, staples or double sided tape? Could they be removed without leaving scars in the wood?
  13. Gary, just sent the guy a question as to what initials are on the backs. These happen to be in my home town and I could have my brother go pick them up. Wish me luck. Rob
  14. Hey Gary, one more question. After looking at these again, I think they may be decorators. They have finished fronts as opposed to black. Is this the case? Thanks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3094487041&indexURL=0#ebayphotohosting
  15. Thanks Gary. LOL. Hope I can get them in the mood!
  16. Thank you sir. They are not my Cornwalls yet, but I am going to try and make them mine.
  17. Hey guys, need a little help on Dating a pair of Cornwalls. Serial #14R318 and 14R319. Would these have been built between 1962 and 1983? If so, this would make the Cornwalls (not Cornwall II's) right? Thanks. Rob
  18. Keith, are you going to set the 400's up as fronts in your HT? If so, I would be curious to hear what you think of them in that configuration. By the way, you did steal those puppies.
  19. Been out of town and just read the post. Andy, hang in there. Dean, very nice gesture indeed. A check will be in the mail from me tomorrow.
  20. Steve, So sorry to hear the news of your mother. Stay strong and all the luck to you and yours. Rob
  21. Hey WJE, welcome to the forum. Audio-Video Solutions in Laurel are pretty good guys. They will deal significantly off of MSRP. How far "west" of DC are you?
  22. Sorry, had not seen the 400's on Audiogon when I saw the C-6. If you can get them for $700, I would say you would not be disappointed. For $700 the only thing missing is the getaway car. That is a real steal.
  23. Yeah Gary, I am wondering how long that one is going to work. I have also used the it's MUCH safer than the Harley I want. So far, that one has worked well. I had motorcycles when I was younger and she knows I would go there in a minute if I got the least bit of encouragement. Her brother is both a Klipsch guy and a Harley owner and she knows we talk about both hobbies when we see each other. I think she holds her breath and just puts up with the stereo stuff to keep me from going over to the "dark side".
  24. Oh my is that ever a mouthful you just said. My wife just asked me why I had e-bay bookmarked and had four items (all stereo related) on my watch list. Oh well, it is addictive but much safer than some other vices I can think of.
