  1. McMira, It's ok, thanks Actually yes, SC1 serves as a great improvement to the Quintet. I used a few weeks like that then I could get a cheap pair of SB2 as Mains, so now I'm only using the Quintet only in the Rears, and wondering if it would be useful the rest to set up a 7.1. Any word on this?
  2. I just bought a pair of SB2 and a SC1, I'm really enjoying it. I wonder if anyone has any recommendation on building a DIY stand for SB2. Thanks!
  3. Thanks please let me know... I will start looking for one here in Argentina
  4. McMiRA, My KSW12 is at it's max. All Speakers are set as Small, the Bass set to LFE+Main and the LFE set at 250Hz, which I believe is the max signal sent to the Sub. After all, I still believe that adding a SC1 as a replacement for my current Quintet II Center would be an enhancement, because of its larger Frequency Response. Would you believe the ring of the SC1 could match the Quintet II Fronts? Thanks!
  5. Hi McMiRA, thanks for your reply. I feel like sometimes from the Center Speaker is some sound missing, specially the lows on certain voices and sounds. I had the thought that with a bigger woofer center speaker, like the SC1 that would be fixed, given the better low freq response. According to specs, my current goes from 120Hz-20kHz3dB and the SC1 60Hz-20kHz(+-)3dB. What do you think? Will it be a good upgrade or should I get better Front LR aswell? I love the size of the Quintet, and the bigger size on the Center to me. I currently have it below my LED, would you suggest trying its sound moving it at the top? Thanks again for your help!
  6. Hi All, I'm trying to find out how can I enhance my HT experience by upgrading my Center Channel Speaker. I am using a Marantz 1601 + Klipsch Quintet II + KSW-12. I was thinking in adding a SC1 Center, what I would prefer you to help me decide Thanks in advance! Diego
  7. Hi All, I am wondering in buying a Klipsch SC 1 Center speaker to replace my Quintet II Center. May I hear your opinions? Thanks in advance! Diego
  8. Hi all! I posted something I believe in the wrong forum, so here I post it again I was wondering which Center Speaker would work as an upgrade for my Quintet II Center speaker. Maybe C1, C2 or C3? Any other recommendation? I run them with a Yamaha RX-V640 which I believe I may be switching to an Onkyo 308 or 508. Any comment on this also? Thanks in advance! DiEGO
  9. Hi all, It has been a while since my last post, but never forget about this forum. I was wondering which Center Speaker would work as an upgrade for my Quintet II Center speaker. 10. Hi all, I am wondering about the differences between KSW12 and SUB12, regarding outputs... .- KSW 12 states: OUTPUTS: 2) High level speaker terminals, high pass filtered at 100Hz, 6dB/octave slope .- SUB 12 states: OUTPUTS: L/R High level speaker binding posts (passthru) What does this exactly means, regarding functionality? Thanks in advance! DiEGO
  11. Any suggestion on this? Thanks in advance, DiEGO
  12. Hi there! How are you people!? I was just wondering about the differences between both systems. I live in Argentina and some dealers still have the Quintet II a little lower that Quintet III and I wanted to know from experience, if it worth those extra bucks. Anything that you may add to this doubt should help! Ps. I forgot to tell that I have a KSW12 Subwoofer! Thanks all. DiEGO
  13. Thanks BDC and DaddyDee Does anyone knows were should I look for a pair of K-28-EP? Would it work fine with the same XOver? Anyone coould comment something on this kind of mod? Thanks guys!
  14. Thanks. I've already own a KSW12 but was wondering selling, not before improving my Heresies LF response. I like the sound this boxes has when I add some bass from the "bass" control in my amplifier. Just +3dB I think. Anyways... thanks for your help! Any other suggestion would be appreciated too! DiEGO
  15. Hi all! I've been out from here for a while... i got to work now so I don't have enough time to read all the posts! I've been listening to music for a while with my Heresies '82 and I was wondering if there could be any way to improve the bass response from the speaker. I've read a while that someone has changed the back wood by a wider one but I'm not sure if the intention was the same. I've been also thinking in changing it and making a hole, and make them "bass reflex", but I don't know where and how big should it be. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! DiEGO
  16. Hi RBM, check in here, http://www.klipsch.com/product/product.aspx?cid=8 but the MF frequency cut is @ 700 Hz, not 400 Hz as you said. I don't know if the squawker would reach 400hz if you cut it there. Also be careful when placing the TV, the magnetic fields may be a trouble if speakers are not shielded. Btw, if you find some info about K77 let me know, my Heresies have that one Cya!

Thanks!
  18. And maybe play a little lower? Let's say -3dB? Thank you!

"Butt" be informed that "CYA" can mean more than "see ya" in some quarters of the U.S.A. ---------------- HornEd, you're welcome. I love Klipsch (Speakers, not the Founder ) since I've bought my KSW12". I used it with a pair of TECHNICS LX-70. After those I went through lot of speakers. I had some "home made" mids with superbullet tweeters, no woofers, just subwoofer, but I didn't like that, even I was able to play them so extremly loud as my ears could bleed but not HI quality was out of them. I sold all that stuff and after that I got a pair of Yamaha with a Central speaker, model NS-AP150 I think. Those were "fine" but not what I was looking for. Then I bought a pair of JBL Pro Control 25, I still own them, but trying to sell. Some day I was surfing MercadoLibre.com.ar (Same as eBay.com for you guys), and I saw this pair of Heresy '82. I bought them as fast as I could. I paid 490 pesos. That's about 170 US Dollars!! The unfortune was with them I think... the next day I bought them, my father lost his job, they ****ing fired him. Anyways, that's how I end up with those. I've changed amplifiers 3 times. First of all I bought an used Technics SA-EX500, then I sold it and give the money to my father who was traveling to Miami and asked him for a Sony STR-DE945. About 6 months ago, I sold it more expensive than I bought in the US, and bought my actual Yamaha RX-V640. I'm not thinking in any way to sell my klipsch, at least not my Heresies. I don't know any people in Argentina who has Klipsch stuff. I've posted in the Spanish section in order to see if I could know someone but no replies yet. Well... I know "CYA" should be written as "See You", also it can be written as "C U". I've studied english some years... but it's not my native language so I'm sorry about my mistakes. Thanks god I can be in here and read/write in english and practice it. It will be very important in my life... I'm studying Hotel Management so there's no way to be a good Hotelier if no english is spoken. I'd like also to learn german, but first I'd like to get a job to help my father right now... I'm sorry, again, I've extended myselft and this has not too much to do about Klipsch or speakers, but wanted to tell you how I do appreciate your words... and the values I got in my bedroom. Thank you and all the people who post doubts, info and help! DiEGO, from Argentina.
  20. So is there any way to get those 17.1 to 20 khz? By adding a transistor or whatever? Thank you!
  21. I believe I got the idea...! But the relation I almost don't get its about when multiplying 10 times the wattage, why is it the double of volume only. Isn't suppoused that +3 dBA would be the double of volume?
  22. So if I give some speaker 1 watt to generate 97 dBA at 1 meter, in order to listen the same volume when goin 4 meters away (-12dBA), I should feed it with 16 watts? Is that correct? ---------------- On 4/25/2004 2:24:03 PM John Albright wrote: Ten times the power is +10 db and twice as loud. ---------------- What does it mean? 1 watt -> 97 dBA 1 meter 10 Watts -> 107 dBA 1 meter? mm I don't get it... What do you mean with Twice As Loud? I'm sorry... and THANK YOU!!

I then secured those to a wood box that I bought at an unfirnished furniture store that is about 1 foot x 1 foot x 10 inches high. I actually feel more bass, enough that, if I didn't know they started fading at 65hz, I wouldn't believe it. I've had them for 14 years or so, and was very surprised. By screwing the risers in them, you add no holes to the speakers, and can easily go back and forth. Try it, I was very surprised. Del ---------------- I'm sorry I didn't get the idea... You have a box, and the speaker placed over it? Could you take a picture?? Thanks!!
  24. Hi... I've been talking with a friend about some info I saw in the forum and we end up with more doubts than knows... The Info I saw was a table which relates the wattage and the dBA Output level of a speaker. It was something like this... Wattage required / dBA Output level 1 watt 100 dBA /1 meter 2 watt 103 dBA /1 meter 4 watt 106 dBA /1 meter 8 watt 109 dBA /1 meter 16 watt 112 dBA /1 meter 32 watt 115 dBA /1 meter Well my doubts are.. 1.- Is there any relation between the distance from the speaker to the listener position, and the dBA Output level? Is it possible to calculate it? Which would be the dBA Output level for this speaker driven with 2 watts if I'm 2 meters away from it? and if I'm 3 meters away from it? 2.- Is it a constant that on every speaker, an 85 dBA speaker would need 8 times more power than a 94 dBA speaker to sound in the same volume? Thanks to all for you help! DiEGO
  25. I got a Yamaha RX-V640 wich is rated at Minimum RMS Output Power (8 ohms, 2020,000 Hz, 0.06% THD, FTC), Main Channels 85 W + 85 W, and I'm using a pair of Klipsch Heresies '82, with a KSW12 powered subwoofer and I really like how this sound. I can't afford a better/more expensive amplifier, at least not right no. It's also almost impossible to get a pair or LaScalas, Klipschorn or something like those here in Argentina, so I think I'd stay with this configuration for a while. The only thing I would comment its about the highs... this tweeters has too much bright, wich could very nice with some kinds of music, but not with others. Cya! DiEGO
