  1. This one been around for a while, I think it is one of the best-recorded albums ever. The music is great to. Just my opinion of course. SuperTramp Brother Where You Bound CD rock. Still rivals the best sounding CDs of today. Second CD I bought back in 1985 after the purchase of my first CD player. I remember this so well because my father and I got into a big argument about the CD player. He thought it was a waist of money. I argued that it was going to take the LP market. He totally disagreed. I will say this; CD may have taken the market but the LPs played on the right equipment still sound better in my opinion.
  2. I am looking for a better passive radiator for my SW-12 II. I feel that the Klipsch radiator is loose and bottoms out way before the driver itself does. I am looking for a tighter radiator. I know I may lose a little sensitivity but I would rather tighten the sound. I am not looking to make a major cabinet change. I am looking at the Peerless XLS-12 passive radiator. Does any one have any experience with that one or does any one have other/better suggestions.

  4. I think this forum is a fantastic. Without the moderators and Klipschs support, it would not be possible. It is the job of the moderators to come down on users who abuse the rules. Shame on anyone who criticizes them (Moderators) when they enforce these simple rules!!
  5. I am using a SW-12 II and a RW-10 in my HT setup. I have them setup along the same wall four feet apart from each other. One is next to my right front channel and the other is next to the left front channel. I am still experimenting. I have not noticed any db gain but the bass is certainly tighter sounding and I hear much more detail. I took me sometime with my db meter and getting the phase correct to get what I think is the best sounding. When I have more time, I will move them around the room to see if it makes any difference. There are many variables but I took the chance and bought the additional sub and so far I like the results.
  6. I have the Samsung 43" DLP. Picture is great and no burn in problems with DLP.
  7. I don't think anyone has mentioned Open Range. The opening rain scene and the gun fight towards the end in DTS-EX. The shotgun blast make your hair stand up. With my SW-12 11 and RW-10 you can feel the blast in your chest.
  8. The performance livens up on the second disk. Lindsey is great and he does phenomenal guitar solo on the second disk. The sound was OK but I agree the mixing could have been much better. I thought the vocals were week at points due to the poor mixing. I agree that even with the shortcomings; the DVD is worth getting. Just my 2¢.

    SW-12 on Ebay

I have a Sw-12 II and a RW-10. I use them both together in a HT set up. I think they compliment each other. If I use one with out the other, making the proper adjustments just to use one, my HT does not have the same punch. The SW-12II has more of an upper punch but the passive radiator in my opinion is too small and gets overwhelmed. The RW-10 gets lower sounds tighter but lacks the upper punch. I hope is makes some sense. Together they have improved my HT immensely.
  10. Fish, Thanks, yea I am not saying it sounds horrible but I thought the vocals could have been stronger. Acutally, the DVD sounds pretty much like going to see him in an enclosed stadium sitting in the seats. I guess thats the point. When I first played the DVD I pulled out my DB meter and I was peaking at 106 DB and my floor was shaking.
  11. I just received Ted Nugents DVD, Full Bluntal Nugify Live. Played the disc both in DTS-ES and in Dolby Digital 5.1 THX ES (It is formatted for both.) I love Nugent but I thought this DVD sounded flat. Mixed with way too much bass and the highs were not crisp. I am wondering if someone has the DVD and feels the same way or do I have to play this DVD in another format to make it sound better. Rich
  12. My family and I just watched the DVD. Sounds great and all of us love the music.

The auto-off function on the rw10 should take effect after 15 minutes of inactivity. All I can think of is that you have the power switched to on AND the other chrome switchy thing set to ON instead of AUTO. Just double check that. ---------------- That was it, I had the "chrome switchy thing" set to ON instead of Auto. Works perfect now! Thanks!!
  14. I just added a RW-10 to my HT system. I now have two subwoofers. The first is a SW-12II. My question is integrating the two subs together to get the best sound. Below is how I have set it up for now. I have a Marantz SR-8300. Using the Sub out I used a Y to run a sub cable to each sub. Since, the SW-12 II does not have a LFE in I used a Y and use the R and L inputs just like I did prior to the RW-10. For the RW-10 I just used the LFE input. Using the LFE Sub out on the Marantz the crossover is 80HZ. All my speakers are set to small. I individually set each sub at 75DB, and then I turned both on and made the final adjustment to 75DB. Then I adjusted both Phase controls. I found that the SW-12 II at 0 degrees and the RW-10 set at 180 degrees had the greatest output. I made the final adjustment for 75DB. I can say this; the system sounds better overall. The bass is crisper and tighter. The only thing I cannot get to work it the auto off on the RW-10. I have let it sit for half hour nothing on and the green light is still on. Did I do this correctly or id there a better more efficient way? I appreciate any help or advice. Rich
