I am getting more bass from my right speaker than my left. My right speaker is in between my dresser and the wall, could this be the problem?

will the chemical take off all of the clear coat that they put on?

I would like to refininsh my heresys but I'm hearing all this stuff about sanding throught the veneer and I'm kind of changing my mind about doing it. I have birch heresys that were finished by the 1st owner. I thought that with the birch heresys there was no veneer and that it was solid wood, not plywood. I am right or is there a veneer on them? In case this makes a difference they were made in 1979, I think.

My stepdad's JBL 18" sub is starting to kind of make a popping noise in action scenes or scenes with a lot of bass. He is getting it reconed which will fix the problem. The popping noise on his sub is because the cone is moving too far away from the voice coil.

Another reason for me to go ss is because when my parents aren't home I like to listen to my music really loud. Sometimes it's so loud that I can barely stand in my room. I'll try to find my stepdad's spl meter to tell you how loud I'm talking about.

I love the way the Eico looks painted black. I would get a Scott but there are not very many that would look good in my room(my bedroom is kind of contemporary). I said black because I like black and most things in my room are black or stainless steel, but I really want black audio equipment. As for the suggestion to go to BestBuy I would never go to Bestbuy to buy things for my stereo(except for monster cable). Yes I am the guy on a budget but now I have $150 and I thought maybe I could save up to buy what I wanted. So now I am just planning what I'm going to buy in the near future. I can spend as much as I want really I just don't want to save for a year to buy something. If I wanted I could save up all year and by Christmas I could have a McIntosh MA230.

I'm looking for a new amp and I think I'm going to get a solid state amp because I can't afford any tube amps that I like the way they look(McIntosh) and I was told that an Eico wouldn't sound that great with rock music. So I'm looking for something that would be better than the Yamaha A-420 that I'm currently using. I don't care if it's integrated or not, I just care that it's black.

I can listen to my stereo as loud as I want until my mom comes in my room and tells me to turn it down.

My stepdad told me tonight that I could just use his tt, so I will use his until I get my own. For some reaseon I thought he didn't really want me to use it. It is a Technics SH-11P3 with a SME cartridge and arm and it has a diamond stylus. So Josh it turns out I won't have to use your tt.
