  1. i agree with you i plug directly cable on speakers connector without using any banana plug or stuff like this.
  2. oops i ve forgoten a piece of my post : i mean i think it may be a placement issue. and i made a mistake:i was talking of the rca connectors of course. sorry...
  3. i think so... set your sub at the place you listen to the music and walk arround the room.the place where the best bass is the place where you should place your sub.
  4. if you have a klipsch sub you can hook both of the 2 lfe in with a Y addaptator it will make a +6db gain for bass. one some dvd the bass channel is sometimes +10db. so you have bass with dvd and not with music... try a Y addaptator to feed both of the lfe in on the sub.
  5. i ve got the same proleme than you giribaldo, klipsch has a bad reputation because of the horns, people says it s sounds like a megaphone. and it s twice more expensive than in usa.
  6. ohoh?? so there is a probleme... if dvd sounds good and and cd have weak bass it s not normal. in my opinion you should have weak bass in dvd(because dvd have a special channel for bass) and cd should sounds normal(it s only in stereo so with rf7 no need for a sub because it s some full range speakers) check cables running fron your cd player to your receiver or setup from your cd player.
  7. rf7 are full range speakers so they can well reproduce a very wide frequency range. if you add some bass with cranckink up the bass management on your AV receiver the sounds will not sounds true but very very boomy. try for a moment if you want but i m sure you will reset the bass to 0db because you will hate the sound it will make.
  8. if all wire were like a human hair the sound will be bad and weak because the bigger cables are and the smaller their resistance/meter is. so if you use a thin cable(with a big resistance) from your amp to your speaker it will aweak the sound at each meter even at loud volume. with a such fuse there is only one inch of "bad" cable wich aweak the sound. do you understand my answer?(i search my words in english because i m french)
  9. you should set your main to large. but with some rf7 you needn t to turn the bass up. rf7 goes deeper than some sub.they reproduce good and loud bass.
  10. i m from clermont ferrand and i live in paris,i have a synergie HT(SF1/SC1/SS1/KSW10)
  11. if you do this each cable for a speaker comes from the same plug on the amp.don t use output for bi wiring on the amp side.
  12. if you bi wire with the plate, it s like if you use a wire that is twice more bigger.it could be usefull if your wire goes under a carpet for exemple
  13. you can try with a piece of your speaker cable, some centimeters should be enough.for exemple you cut 5cm on each cable that come to your rf and you use them as jumpers.
  14. 007 is right, you should activate the algorithm that transform a stereo source in a 4 channels source if you can. and in your dvd player you should set your speaker set to 4 speakers or quadraphonic
  15. does your sound card decodes DD or DTS? does it have a 5.1 audio output?? check that rear volume isn t set to -15db or something like this on the control pod
  16. unfortunatly i don t totally enjoy my setup because of my ht room.i only have a small room for the moment, last but not least my neighbourg aren t very happy when i turn up the volume because wall are very thin.so i wish will change of flat arround july. and my 19" pc screen broke few weeks ago,i should buy a tv screen in some weeks. i can still enjoy music at week volume.klipsch speakers are perfect in mid and high volume but they are also very good at low volumes.
  17. i actually use some copper cables use to electical installation and there are no difference between them and my old monster cables so don t waste your money... you can choose: having pretty cables and nothing to plug or simple cables with a good system for the same price buying a 500ft lenght isn t silly, you can buy cable for your friend
  18. over sampling "invents" some informations depending on the informations on the source. the information added can be right or wrong...
  19. i m not waiting anymore, i first have 2 promedia 2.1 then a promedia 5.1 and now i ve no probleme with voltage anymore: i bought a full synergy serie home theatre(it s only speakers so no voltage problems) and i can buy any amp or receiver i want at some step from my home.(it s easier to find some yamaha,sony,nad,... in the right voltage than klipsch promedia at the right voltage) and it sounds better than my promedia...
  20. if you want a 4.1 set you can by 2 promedia 2.1. i had this setup and it sounds quiet good. i also had a promedia 5.1,the bass are more sharp and clear than with the 2 promedia 2.1.
  21. thanks for the wave generator, you can test your sub to see how deep he goes,or setup the crossover... thanks a lot!!!
  22. i live in france and i had some promedia s speakers in 230V it s hard to find but its the best choice. don t use a voltage adaptator.a firend used one with 2 promedia 2.1 and his promedia s make a kind of hissing sound. and your promedia won t have any waranty if you don t buy the version which matches your contry
  23. bigger the cables are and smaller the resistance of cables is. that s what i get during my studies on physics. some materials are better for some frequency ranges(eg silver is better for high frequencies) i use to get some very expansive cables.now i use a large section electical cables of 6mm²(sorry for the units but i come from france so i don t know how feets and inches works) it sounds almost as good as my old monster cables and it s cheaper(about 2 euros for a meter.) so don t waste money anymore;-)
  24. like horned says having the same speakers is theoricaly the best solution. having rs7 for surround is not the best solution, but it s a quiet good solution because it s cheapest and the sound should be quiet good. don t struggle for speaker, don t forget that we haven t the same ears, so eachone might enjoy a different set up
