  1. Thanks again - I will look them up. Patrick.
  2. I have what could be construed as a failry complete, somewhat dated reference series system. I am moving and no longer have the room for wall mounted rear/side surrounds. My question is - given what I have, can anyone point me to the roughly equivalent speakers in wall and ceiling mounted varieties? Additionally, can anyone recommend a good speaker control box (It seems I will need one of those also - to power outdoor speakers (also Klipsch and speakers in the Living Room). Thanks very much for your assistance! Patrick.
  3. I should have provided a bit more information: It was not playing when it fell; the setero was off. I hooked up the other working speaker to the wires connected to the non-working speaker and it worked fine. I am at a loss....
  4. I have a pair of RS 3 IIs flanking the couch on 30" stands. As my cat was trying (in vain) to evade my German Shepard, she knocked it over and it landed on the tile floor. Damage to the case is quite minimal, but now the speaker does not work. I opened it up (unscrewed the 4 screws affixing the binding posts) and pulled out the wires and do not see anything broken or wires unattached. Any thoughts as to what broke / how to get it fixed? Please help...
  5. I have no problems with mine either. Great speaker!
  6. I like them quite a bit. I have not driven them too much yet and I primarily watch movies so it is hard to isolate them. They do seem a far cry better than my other speakers. If I had them down low on stands I am sure they would sound better where I have mine up on the wall. Had to do it though since 1.) My room congig. would not lend itself to stands. 2.) I have two small kids. 3.) I have two big dogs. 4.) I have two cats with VERY sharp claws. Good Luck.
  7. I found out the hard way - I placed my RC-7 in the top enclosure of my entertainment unit with about 3" - 4" of clearance to the back. During some high volume sequences, I heard some distortion. I thought I had a bad speaker, so I took it down to the place I bought it to see. Long story short - I cut out the back of the entertainment unit and do not have any more problems.
  8. I agree - the magnets are great! No more pressing - they just "pop" on.
  9. I just bought a pair of the RB-75s. I uopgraded from KG 2.5s. I, too listened to the RB 35s, especially since they were roughly 1/2 the price of the 75s, but thought the 75s sounded a bit better and I did not want to settle for the 35s since the reviews I read on the 75s were great. I put them on Omnimounts with great effort so the cabinets will not come apart since they are not designed to be placed on anything by flat stands. Get them, you will nto regret it.
  10. I sucked it up and bought a new set on eBay. Did not want to risk a $600.00 speaker for a $75.00 mount. Thanks everyone.
  11. I just got them and was more than dismayed to find that they only have two holes in the bottom center of the speaker. I am bnot yet sure what thread size other than I know the scres from my Omnimount 75s fit perfectly. I called Klipsch to ask them what gives and they replied that they do not recommend putting them on omniounts like i had my KG2.5s since they are not constucted as well (no dados (strong wood joint)). The two holes are there to simply prevent them from being knocked off a stand. I am still going to put them on a new set of omnimounts (60s) since I have figured out a way, knowing that as soon as I drill into the cabinet I am going to void the cabinet warranty.
  12. I just upgraded my 2.5s to RB 75s. Had them for years - great speakers. I had them mounted on Omnimounts 75s (new series equivalent is the 30 series): http://www.omnimount.com/product.asp?p=53. They fit the 4 holes perfectly. Good Luck.
  13. Some will say that you must use Monster Cables thick enough to tow a car with in order to get true sound. I succumbed to that 2 years ago, but no longer believe it is necessary. I now use the 16 guage oxygen free wire from Home Depot and I haven't noticed a discernable difference. Your wallet will thank you!
