  1. Thanks Gents. I think I will take your advise. -Andy
  2. I have a surround which is different in model than the other pieces. RF35 RC35 and RS25 If I upgrade to the RS35, will possibly get me that much of a change in sound? The upgrade is approximately $300 and I don't know if it's worth paying Thanks, -Andy
  3. I have an RW12 and am wondering what type of sound difference would I experince by installing another RW12? Thanks, -Andy
  4. mm, I'm a newbie......how well would these run with a Klipsch RW12? RF35, RS25, RC35, Yammy 2400, RW12 Thanks, -Andy
  5. I have a similar setup but the surround speakers are RS25's rather than RS35. I like the sound but wandering if I were to replace it with the 35, if I would notice a big difference. Yammy 2400 RF35, RC35, RS35, RW12 Comments would be helpful. Thanks, -Andy
  6. thanks Again everyone. I think I'm looking for that comfort feeling and may endup getting the hts3600. I'm getting a price of 399 form Ultimate Electronics. Arthurs, you mentioned you got a good deal on the 5100..would you mind sharing how much and where? Thanks, -Andy
  7. Man.....very conflicting opinions. I appreciate everyone input. -Andy
  8. I have a new Mitsu/Klipsh HT and am wondering how important is it to purchase a Monster Power device and possibly which ones would be best. Thanks, -Andy
  9. I have a Yamaha RX-V2400 and LOVE IT. Very Clean. I also have not experienced the 'too bright' issue. I'm running the yammi with RF35's. Good luck -Andy
  10. Thanks again everyone. I will try positioning the sub. Is there a rule of thumb that you need to place the sub so many feet away from your main listing area? Thanks, -Andy
  11. Hard 21, I'm in a similar situation and as new if not newer than you. I have the followin: RF35 - front RC35 - Center RS25 - Surround RW12 - SUB Yamaha XV-R2400 All monster M2s cables except surround, Monster flat cable I've noticed the RW12 has an awsome kick but it's quite finiky on where it's placed. I've been hearing that is common with all subs. I hadn't noticed it with a Def Tech 200TL sub, which was rear ported. The Def Tech was not as clean though. I have my phase set at 0. I've been told this is totally dependent on the room. I have my cross over set at 80 on the sub as well as the receiver. I'm sure I havent' helped much. Hopefully others...way more informed than I, will help wih this question. Haven't seen M&C yet....Hope you enjoy it. -Andy
  12. The RSW is definately not in my budget!
  13. Well, I took the plunge.....I got RF35 speakers. I looked at the price difference between the 25 and 35 and found that there really isn't that much of a difference. Now I'm wondering if I need to upgrade the center and surrounds from a 25 to 35?????? Am I trying to be too perfect.....or do most of you make changes like these? I've replaced my sub three times, surround from synergy to RF25 and cables! Thanks, -Andy
  14. MV, I have the Yamaha XV-R2400, which boasts 120Watts per channel. I had the RF15 and endedup replacing it with RF35. I was missing a lot of mid's since my room is very open and difficult to work with. I really havent' had any issues with the high end. The 3803 similar to the 2400 in power. I don't think it's the power. What cables are you using. I had good no brand cable before and then replaced it with Monster M-2s speaker cables (RF35 and RC25) and Monster Flat cable for the rears (RS25). I noticed a BIG difference when I replaced the front cables. I had also tried the Z1 from Monster, which is also Excellent. Good Luck. -Andy
  15. Thanks for the link to www.partsexpress.com. Just visited and purchased a Monster S-Video and Datalink cable for approximately 80% off........ this sale ends today. -Thanks, -Andy
  16. Thank you very much for the suggestions. And yes, you are pissin in the wind but...... It'll take some convining, but I may be able to pull off the change. Thanks, -Andy
  17. I recently purchased the following: Yammy 2400 Klipsch RF15 Front Klipsch RS25 Surround Klipsch RC25 Center And...Klipsch RW-12 SUB I'm thinking of upgrading the RF15 to RF25 to get a more fuller sound (for music), possibly better mids, etc.. I've attached my room diagram for reference. I'm looking for opinions on if the upgrade to the 25 really would make a big difference in sound. Thanks in advance. -Andy
  18. Thank you everyone for your assistance on this. I attempt your recommendations. -Andy
  19. I apologise for the duplicate entries in the other forums. I realized I should have put this request here only after posting it in the other. Please help. I have the following setup: Yammy 2400 Klipsch RF15 Front Klipsch RS25 Surround Klipsch RC25 Center And...Klipsch RW-12 SUB I purchased an RW-8 SUB which I wasn't too happy with. My room size is 16x17, open to the kitchen as well. I heard the Definitive Tech's Pro Sub 200TL (12") and liked it. After I got it home, it sounded pretty nice. The sound was very full and overed the entire room. I then had second thoughts to replace it with the Klipsch RW-12, to make my complete system Klipsch. I ended up dishing out another $200 only to find out that I'm not getting the same response. I had to rearrange my furniture to hear the sub. When I move about the room, there is a drastic change where the sub impact is considerably lessoned. I didn't have this experience with the Def Tech. I have the phase at 90 degrees and crossover at 80. The sub sounds great when I'm in my sitting chair, but for everyone else, it's almost as though it's not there. I'm wondering if I need to make some setting changes or is the RW-12 a very directional sub and maybe not a good fit for me room. I'm quite disapointed.....any advise would be VERY MUCH Appreciated. Thanks in advance -Andy
  20. Thanks for your input. BTW what is AVIA test DVD and where could I get one. Thanks, -Andy
  21. Skidmarks, I have had the same issue with my Yammay 2400. You need to go into the manual setting (see book please) and simply adjust the DB level of the sub. I assume you are not having problems when you are running the receiver in 6ch mode but are when running in 2ch mode. I've had two seperate 2400's and have had the same issue. Once you do the change it will work. Good Luck. -Andy
