I've got a friend who lives in Atlanta and recently registered on the forum. He's just now informed me that he can NOT get onto the forum when he's at home but he can while he's at work. for NOW, that's all I know. I just sent him an email asking if he gets any errors or if he can get onto www.klipsch.com So far he's not had time to respond. So, I'm just curious if there is anything to look for on his pc that might be a reasonable starting point preventing him from getting BACK on the forums (he has been here before on this pc) I asked him if his wife put a child lock on his pc... I don't think he liked my humor. []

I can relate with that. I bought a basket case (100% disassembled and stuffed into 4 boxes) 1983 Maico 490. I lovingly put it back together with new bearings, piston, paint job, new seat, rebuilt shocks and the like. I didn't make it "pretty" but it was 100% functional when I was done and ran like a bandit. Unfortunately, my understanding is the 1983 version was the HIGHEST saddle height they ever made. I was out buzzing around the farm with it one day, came to a stop and as I set my foot down to balance myself, there was no ground there (foot still in air). Long story short, much like those cartoons where the guy comes to a stop and simply plops over to the side... that is exactly what happend to me. It was fairly comical, if not a bit embarassing. Another comical moment (that cracked my tailbone), I was riding in one of the fields and saw some deer over the way. I was going to chase after them (did I say "WAS"... hmm..that should be a hint that something happened) Anyway, I was going to go buzz them. Bike was in 3rd gear as I recall. Oh, and it also had a 1/4 quick turn throttle, so 1/4 turn goes from off to wide open. I cracked the throttle and again, just like in the cartoons (specifically Wile E. Coyotee) the bike literally took off like a rocket, out from underneith me leaving me hanging in midair still in the "seated" position. Since I was in the 'seated' position, my feet/legs where sort of forward, arms forward and I landed SQUARE on my tailbone. Hurt like a s.o.b. Although I literally limped home and spent something like the next 6 months getting over the pain (with 2 or 3 months being excruciating / wincing pain) I did find some humor in what it must have looked like, seeing some dufas (me) crack the throttle and the bike launch out from underneith them. Oh, did I mention that I sold the bike a year later lol.

Give us all enough time and she'll end up stopping at the K-402. Yeah...that's the ticket!

Just noticed you're in Oxford. My sister just moved there a couple months ago. I've only been through there once and seem to recall some kind of horse track? (we passed it on way to her place) Looks like a nice area but the traffic was horrific.

Are you suggesting you're in the area and not going to swing by for breakfast/lunch or dinner? Shall I crank the Jubilees up while you're driving by on I-75? Thanks Jay/Mike. Jay: as an aside, the guy who bought your Heresy's loves them. Twist on original question. He ALSO has a dbx 200 route selecter (I think it's called a 200, mine is a 400 but mine has a power cord and his doesn't) Could he plug BOTH turntables into the route selector using say, "Tape A" and "Tape B", then run both grounds to the preamp unit? I think one failing I see here is I don't know what kind of needles he's using. If they're the same he can keep the switch on the back of the preamp on the same setting. If they are different, he'd possibly have to fiddle with it each time he changed TT's. (mc/mm kinda thing) Aside from that possiblity, would the logic of using the route selector work and allow him to simplify his setup or would that create unnecessary complications?

I sold a dbx CX1 preamp to someone. They have a Pass preamp (don't know model). The question was regarding his turntable. he's got TWO of them (turntables) and the CX1 does not have 2 phono inputs. So, the idea came up of perhaps putting one of the TT's into the Pass preamp and plumbing THAT preamp into say, "AUX" of the CX1. Once the volume is set on the Pass pre, then he'd leave it alone and use the "master" volume of the CX1 for everything. Question is... would that work? Would it booger up one of his preamps?

If you focus on the left side you will see a knot in the wood behind the speaker. That knot is but a couple inches higher than the Khorn/Academy and about on target with the Jubilee. So, the biggest impact to a room (size wise) with the Jubilee is primarily their height.

Here are the Jubilees in the same corner. Oh, I should perhaps mention, the Khorns had Academy's sitting on top of them.

It's not a literal side by side since Mark came & got the Khorns so quickly (and left me Klipschless until Jubilees arrived) Here is pic of Khorns in corners. Note the logs and the markings between them. The logs are 12" logs and between them are 4x4's (which are 3 1/2 x 3 1/2)

My understanding is they are "about $1,000" delivered to your door. That includes the K-402, K-69 and the little tray thingy they are mounted to. Your choice of colors are black...and black. Window dressing to the outer edge is at your option & discretion. I would expect they'd come in under 1K but not sure how much more.

Lisa, if someone has a pair of Khorns "sitting around", swapping them out for the Jubilee is NOT a major imposition on the room. Ya, someone may not like the asthetics, but I'm speaking to raw dimensions (HxW). Especially if put into a corner, the Jubilee will not take any more room than a Khorn. It's only something like 12/18 inches taller and that's about it. I have a picture of my old Khorns in my room (see Chronicles thread) so people can get a reference point.

You want floor to top lip of K402? Edit: I just went down & took couple measurements. The overall height of the Jubilee with K402 on top is right at 66" The K402 itself, measures (from the bottom of its tray as opposed to bottom lip of horn) 26 1/2" tall and (lip to lip) 39 1/2" wide.
