Aka Housewuves of [fill in the blank]

He's always exaggerating. Last week it was "torrential ".something or other.
-
That's counterintuitive.
-
What if he meant the Balance Dial?
-
That is what I keep hearing, but I thought I would see if anyone had something to say. Your opinion (which I note is free from personal attacks) Is as valid as anyone else's here.
-
If they didn't have an interest in this thread why would they be posting their opinion about it? I'm not sure I understand.
-
These questions were posted by you 14 minutes agi, was simply trying to answer them as succinctly as possible. I agree but is there a reason it's being shut down? Las call? Are we oldtimers being kicked out? If so, it's been fun and are we going to be allowed to talk about other stuff in the lounge or is it only open to.....? Again, try posting and find out. I think you find nothing has changed.
-
Then why ask the question?
-
Ewwwww, did you have to use the word displace after what you and I saw last week? I can probably arrange a shirt, but only for you because of that great post you had earlier.
-
I was hoping someone was going to donate a brass plaque first?
-
That's a NO from you. On the topics why dont you try posting a new topic and find out.
-
Don't be sorry, nobody missed anything. Everyone was there voluntairly to the best of my knowledge. Dave was warning entire group to knock of cheap shots and personal attacks six months into it. The group, as a whole, didn't listen, now it's gone. As I said Jeff's post pretty much lays it all out. Anything else?

Has everyone said whay they wanted to say about NoBS being terminated? We are at point now where there are three discussions going on at same time, none really on Marty's OP. At last visit it wad Viagra and who got treated worse in there. Best summary of the whole thing goes to Mr. Matthews.

I knew him when he lived in Stratford-upon-Avon, you should have caught his act then. Guy was a riot. Nothing was sacred with him, but he had such a command of English that he could slip anything past the folks in Westminster, Canterbury or the MPs. He was the master ofnthe pun and the double entendre. Is he in Branson now?
-
Well if it fell off so I can see the reason for the drop off. White Rhino Horn works even better.
-
Miss him to death, see him sporadically posting, he explained in some public posts he was dialing back a little, and I respect that. Maybe this will lure him out @colterphoto1

Ues MaxG I see he posted about some hearing loss. I also miss @bhendrix

from the weather underground Model performance So which is the best? The best forecasts are made by combining the forecasts from three or more models into a "consensus" forecast. Over the past decade, NHC has greatly improved their forecasts by relying on consensus forecast models made using various combinations of the GFS, GFDL, NOGAPS, UKMET, HWRF, and ECMWF models. If you average together the track forecasts from these models, the NHC official forecast will rarely depart much from it, and the NHC forecast has been hard to beat over the past few years. The single best-performing model over the past two years has been the ECMWF. This model out-performed the official NHC forecast in 2010 for 3-day and 4-day forecasts, and in 2009 for 4-day and 5-day forecasts. You can view ECMWF forecasts on our Wundermap with the model layer turned on. The European Center does not permit public display of tropical storm positions from their hurricane tracking module of their model, so we are unable to put ECMWF forecasts on our computer model forecast page that plots positions from the other major models. As seen in Figure 3, over the past two years, the GFS and GFDL model have been the next best models, with the UKMET model not far behind. Last year, the NOGAPS model did very poorly, forcing NHC to come up with some new consensus models this year, the TCOA and TVCA, that do not include the NOGAPS model. For those interested in learning more about the models, NOAA has a great training video (updated for 2011).

All of the above and @garymd @boomac @maxg from Greece

"That 'ill be 5 dollars." I loved the part where they are in Jimmy's listening room and he pulls out a Link Wray 45 (IIRC) of Rumble and plays it on his turntable.

@jimjimbo Check this article out, the video at the top I found very interesting abiut the musical theory behind Deacon Blues. The secind video I believe is a cut from the VH1 documentary we were talking about earlier. http://www.openculture.com/2016/04/how-steely-dan-wrote-deacon-blues.html -

I really enjoyed this article, anyone else run into anything they liked? http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/la-et-ms-walter-becker-steely-dan-archive-interview-20170903-story.html -
Oh no. Well wait. Subscribers. Tax free donations to Museum gets you in. Parts.of it were great and then you had an election cycle. In the middle there.. lot.of.initial topics, and then tired.old ones. Someone would come alimg with something on history or science, it was real good debate, etc.

I think it was worth a try, I'm glad.that you and others made the effort. During the "wake" i got.to read some earu threads in there, i learned a great deal on a myriad of topics, few of them on politics. Literature, history, art, reading, military history and tactics, local government and on and on. No one.was.lilled, mamed or injured during the experiment, overall I would say it was a resounding success.
