My dad refinished his La Scala's a few years ago (orginally bought new in '81) and they turned out great. The orginal stain he put on was pretty dark. He sanded them down, fixed any imperfections, and the routed all the edges/corners for a cleaner look. If you're interested, I can have my dad send me pics of before/after and post them.

It should do better for gaming (although I don't do much) and MUCH better for video, especially hi-def.

Here's my setup (please don't mind the dirty house)... I finally got the clear from the lady to go ahead and put together a home theater. When we move next year and get a house, she wants me to build a small theater out of the basement. I cant wait! It's not a large system by any means, but it sounds nice for the $1k I spent on everything (all new too!). Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the rears or surounds currently. - Yamaha RX-V661 - Front - RB-51 - Center - RCX-4 - Suround and Rear - 4x RSX-3 - Subwoofer - RPW-10 Other stuff shown is my HTPC, Xbox 360, & 40" Samsung LCD... Everything is enclosed, so I'm going to install some 120mm fans in the back of the A/V stand to suck out the hot air. I run a HTPC as well which will receive a Blu-Ray/HD DVD combo drive next week as well as an 8800GT SSC. The HTPC I can't wait to get a house... I'm not too thrilled with the space/layout I have to work with currently. Being military, I move and I know I'm not staying much longer where I currently at.

I personally do not think so, but I can't get them from my friend at cost where he works anymore. They show discontinued in their system. I think I may try to find a set of RB-51's and keep the RSX-4 and see how it does. I will be going with the RW-10D if nobody sees any issues.

You think those will integrate well with my surrounds?

Mark, I think I'll go with the RW-10D now.... Another question... I haven't bought the RB-51's yet although that is what I initially wanted. My buddy, who gets his discounts at cost said the RB-51's were discontinued and that he can get me the RB-61's for dirt cheap. Do you think they would intergrate well with the center channel (RCX-4, which I already bought), or be too much... or just sound way off? If I were to get the RB-61's should I change the center out? If so, to what?

Howdy, I am trying to decide what sub to go with for my current setup.... Here is what I have below: Fronts: RB-51 Center: RSX-4 Surrounds: RSX-3 Rears: RSX-3 I can get either for the same price (which is rediculously low) and I see that the RW-10D plays lower and handles more power, not to mention it looks better. Do you think the sub might be a bit much (I know... I can turn down the gain)? Will either integrate better than the other with my system? Any thoughts/help is mucho appreciated! Thanks,

Hehe...I couldn't pass up a brand new Cinema 6 setup for $250. I walked into the store days later and saw it for $650+ tax.... But yes, I've been wanting a good, yet small setup that would rock. I just built a new HTPC (don't know if you saw it) and I just wanted to make everything up to par. Last time I drove the SHO (last week after sitting for a month) I snapped an axle right in the transmission. It's not aon my good side right now, but I knew it would eventually happen.

Howdy, I just picked up a Cinema 6 five-piece setup brand new for an extremely good deal. My problem is I cannot find a good set of stands that will look good with these speakers. Does anyone have any recommendations for these. For those that do not know, I'm looking for stands to work well with the RSX-3 speakers. In my current place, they will not do well on the wall for the front speakers. Thanks, Jason

I'm going to put this on ebay in a couple days, but I thought I'd post here first. I've got and EXCELLENT condition SWS 8" subwoofer for sale. I'm only selling as I am buying a home theater setup (A/V receiver, surround). I was using the GMX speakers with this add-on SWS for my HTPC and it filled my entire living room with sound. Anyway, make me an offer and I'll consider selling here before listing on ebay. This will include the SWS sub, the controller, power cord, surround cabes (allows for pass through), and a subwoofer cable. Thanks! The bottom subwoofer is the SWS for sale.

I would venture to say that ALL musical CD's are recorded digitally. Whether or not they are multi-channel encoded is a different story. ;-)

I got my sub today and it sounds superb. The only question I would have is how is the "auto-off" feature activated? I figured once it sensed a signal from the RCA input, it would turn on. This is not the case with my sub. I have to turn it to "ON" and then it works fine.

I'm already watching the two on eBay. The other guys is $50 for shipping, however, I'll watch it to see what it sells at. We'll see how much I bid at... IIRC, these sold at $150 new, so I can't see myself going much more than that for a used piece

I remember reading about this when I bought my speakers back in 2003, however, I didn't buy it when I should have. I know they are discontinued, so I'm testing the waters to see if anyone is selling, or know of someone who still might have some left over in stock. With that said, I'm looking for the SWS 8" subwoofer that can be daisy chained to my GMX 2.1 computer speaker system. If anyone can help, please respond!
