Well the centers are the same I thought the klf 30s and 20s used the same mid-horn and high-horn so it would be very simiar I know they are crossovered at a differeent frequency Oh well Rich

For those of you that want A/B testing here goes I have 2 klf 30s 2 klf 20s and two kjlf c7s the 30s and one c7 are crossover moded by Dean the other three are stock Ok this is what I did I used ther 30s and c7 for one and the 20s and other c7 for the other I watched parts of T2 Star Wars and Saving Private Ryan also listened to music in stereo and multi channel. This is what I came up with first I used the speakers with the upgraded crossovers I watched the movies and listened to music (Eagles DTS and Linkin Park)then swiched speakers.Their is definitly a difference. with movies there was more detail and everything was clearer the soundstage was also bigger now with the music when I listened to Linkin Park in srereo at loud volumes (over -15) with non upgraded speakers I started to get ear fatige it was a little harsh and grainy the other speakers sounded much better at these sound levels with little or no ear fatige no harshness or grain. At lower levels (-35) there wasn't as much of a difference a little more detail. I put in the Eagles I was really able to check the center with this much cleaner sounding and the soundstage was noticably bigger it had more depth Now this wasn't true a/b testing as I was not able to switch back and forth but did take and afternoon listening to the same parts of the cds and movies with the different sets of speakers and there is a very noticable diference for the better with the speakers with the upgraded crossovers Just my 2 cents Rich

I got my klf c7 center crossover back from Dean on Friday sounds great. Between the klf 30s and now the center front soundstage is awsome I watched Empire Strikes Back WOW!! if you watch alot of movies it is definetly worth doing the center to match I listened to the Eagles in DTS everything is so clear and detailed. For all you that are doubtful on the crossover upgrade just try it you won't be disappointed Also if you never had your crossovers upgraded you are in position to say it doesn't make a difference so stop talkin SMACK Rich

I think Klipsch should have Dean do all the crossover mods for them as an upgradable option Dean did my klf 30s and the difference is very noticable. Deans the man Hopfully I will get my klf c7 center crossover back from Dean today. I have to admit I didn't think the upgrade would make that much of difference either but, I sent him the crossovers anyway and WOW was I wrong so stop thinking so much and just send Dean the croosovers you won't be disappionted Rich

I am thinking of selling my klf 20s any offers I live in Ct local pick-up would be better as I do not have oringinal boxes but I would check in to it if someone wants Rich I am getting 30s to replace them

I recently picked up another klf c7 center and noticed that they have different power ratings one is 150 watt and the other is 100 watt is it because one is older?? they both sound the same I was just wondering why Rich

You can get bucking magnets for your klf30s then you can place them right next to the tv you can call klipsch parts center they can get them for you Rich

I took the baseboard off and cut a channel on the back side a router works good for this then run your wires and put the baseboard back Rich

This item edded but nobody buy from him I bought a klf c7 center and one woofer is bad (the voiceciol is blown) but did not say that in auction He said would give me $60 to help pay for new woofer ($94.04) a week ago but nothing yet Just thought I should give heads up Rich

If you have the space I would get floorstanders for rears I have 30s up front and 20s in the rear plus 2c7s for front and rear centers the ksp c6 is the recommened surrounds but they are hard to find and when you do they are $$$ you can get 10s on ebay right now for $350 they even have a brand new pair for$600 you could get 20s for around $600 and 30s for $800 to $1000 depending on condition If you listen to 5 channel stereo the bigger speakers are the way to go PS. By getting 30s 20s or10s for rears IMO movies sound better I set my crossovers at 50hrz that way when yoiu get an explosion or depth charge (u571) you really feel it in the rears besides the sub it sounds awsome Rich

I have the Monster Power 5100 power center I noticed no sound difference but did notice a difference in the video the picture was cleaner and sharper Rich

I just bought a klf c7 center off of ebay when I hooked it up I noticed one of the woofers sounds distorted also when I push on that woofer it makes a noise I removed the woofer and checked to see if it was hooked up correctly and was is the woofer bad? or is there somthing I can do They do still sell the woofers for $94.08 just wanted to be sure before I spent the $$ Rich

I heard the b&k 200x2 and thought it sounded ok (did not hear the adcom) but I love my rotel rmb 1080 200x2 you should also give rotel a listen they have a rmb1075 125x5 for $1000 or rmb1095 200x5 for $2000 they are the best bag for the buck IMO go to www.rotel.com for more info PS I have heard parasound they sound good too Rich

Redtop I only tested with music and have to say the benifits are worth the $ more detail, smoother especially at loader volumes did not notice much difference in timbre I gave my review after only about 3 hours they sound even better now after break-in the soundstage really opened up it sounds sooo good I'm getting my klf 20s and klf c7 done also Rich PS Redtop I noticed a big improvment in bass with my klf 30s I felt before they were lacking a little considering the size of the woofers in them The bass is tighter smoother and hits harder Have Dean do two of them and compare you won't be disappionted (that way you can still listen to the other three)

which monster power center do you have I have the 5100 and have everything running off it including my Rotel 200x2. I know the 5100 can give 35 amps of constant power thats a lot when I have my system cranking I only use about 5 amps I think it sounds better with the power center Rich

Dean I think the 10 guage wire made a difference the bass is much smoother and tighter also they seem to have a little more bass than before if that makes any sense I did an a/b test with my klf20s with no upgrade and my klf30s with Deans crossovers this what I came up with The mids are clearer cleaner not harsh or grainy just detaied sound. The highs are not as bright and seem to be smoother. The bass was tighter and smoother (this is a big one because the 20s have 10" woofers instead of 12"s and the 10s allways sounded to me to be tighter) My conclution I know I was comparing klf20s to 30s and they are a little different sounding but the mids and highs sound be the same and the 30s won hands down Now the bass to me I liked the bass better out of the 20s before the upgrade but not anymore the 30s blew me away I don't even need a sub on anymore for stereo listening. If any of you considered upgrading your crossovers for klf30s I highly recommend it I sent my crossovers to Dean WOW!!!!! GREAT JOB They sound amazing cleaner clearer tighter bass I thought the klf30s sounded good before It's definetly worth the $$ Dean do you do the klf c7 center? PS I'm listening to the speakers as I'm writing this and noticed the highs and mids not as bright they sound very clean I know this becuase a song came on that sounded very bright before thanks Dean Rich

whats the deal with powered subs are they better than an unpowered sub box powered by an exteral amp I know in cars you have an amp run your sub box Is there any advantiges either way Rich

you could get a votage regulator from companies like monster or exact power they are kind of pricey though a friend of mine lives in a older house that is rented he bought one and has no more problems Rich

Anyway I checked and it seems the black wire is connected to the terminal without the mark so I'm guessing the black is negitive so everyone was right positive is the side with the mark thanks for everyones help PS hey Dean you should have gotten my crossovers yesterday CAN'T WAIT Rich

First my system klf30s main klf20 klf c7 center true sunfire sub pioneer elite receiver rotel rmb1080 200x2 amp My system sounds good but was thinking running two subs the sunfire is awsome down low but over 60hrz its weak what are some of my options I want a more musical sub whats erveryone think thanks Rich
