  1. I just found this: http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/07/audiovox-to-buy-klipsch-we-cant-help-but-worry/
  2. Thanks Rick! It's great seeing your posts on "RTM".......because of you I want to expand my blu-ray collection. Thanks for the kind words Sterling...[] I love this forum and in particular the RTM thread! Lots of great guys here...[H]
  3. Wow, I just spotted this post... Congrats Sterling...[Y][H] Those are beautiful!![]
  4. LOL, I remember Kraco and Sparkomatic from those days...[]
  5. Yeah, I was kinda shocked to hear this myself...
  6. I just saw this on another forum and though I'd share it here, in case anyone didn't know yet: http://www.twice.com/article/461992-2011_CES_Audiovox_Plans_To_Buy_Klipsch_Group.php
  7. The Denon AVR-3310CI is a great deal right now at the price it is selling for on Amazon. I just received mine yesterday and thus far I like it a lot. http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR3310CI-7-1-Channel-Network-Receiver/dp/B002AKKFQ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289074892&sr=8-1
  8. Actually, I am looking to get back into vinyl for the first time in nearly 20 years. The only thing is that my current pre-pro (Pioneer Elite VSX-23TXH) does not have a phono input. So I would have to buy a decent phono pre-amp, meaning that my total investment would be near the price of a brand new budget Pro-Ject or Music Hall table. I am considering getting a new receiver/pre-amp that has a phono input. The only thing is, I'm pretty sure that a good quality phono pre-amp will handily outperform one built in to most AV receivers. So I am not sure what I will do at this time...
  9. Thanks for your input. I am not sure what I am going to do yet...
  10. Does anyone have any experience with this turntable? I found one on Craigslist this morning and am tempted to check it out. It appears to be in very nice condition with a brand new belt and Grado cartridge. Is $150 a good price for it? It would be a couple of hours drive to go look at it. Is it worth checking out? How would it compare to a new budget table such as the Pro-Ject Debut III or Music Hall MMF-2.1? Thanks in advance. http://syracuse.craigslist.org/ele/2009218840.html
  11. I am selling my Pioneer Elite VSX-23TXH receiver for $600 (shipping included). It is in mint condition. Sounds great with movies and music IMO. Here is my post with a link to info from Pioneer: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/140239.aspx

    Nevermind

That's cool man! A few years ago I did the same thing. I downsized my system from a 6.1 to a 2.0 setup. That didn't last too long. I enjoy SACDs/DVD-A discs/Blu-ray and DVD concerts too much (and movies as well). With my current setup I enjoy BOTH 2 channel and multichannel music. I gave disc one of two of this new one a listen last night. It is phenominal! Can't wait to check out disc two tonight. I have been hanging out quite a bit in the "right this now" thread for a few months now, and I think I will also be getting back into vinyl again real soon. Gotta love this hobby![Y][H]
  13. I think you did the right thing by ordering the RC-62. I used to own an RF-62/RC-62/RF-62 setup and they are a perfect match. I also highly recommend you purchase a Radio Shack SPL meter. Having the channel levels matched is critical to a home theater system IMO..
  14. If you can increase your budget a bit this is currently on sale (black): http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/vtf-2-mk3.html This thing is huge and very powerful! I just got one myself in walnut finish when they cleard them out. Great sub and comparable to SVS. Or this one for $388 shipped: http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/stf-2.html
  15. I'm with you 100% Boxx. I have felt for the last few years that my NY Mets need a manager with his kind of fire. With Lou gone and Bobby Cox leaving at the end of the season, the game has lost two of its' last great old school magagers.
  16. He sure has been. He was in baseball for 1 year longer than I have been alive. Here's a shot of Lou at his best.
  17. For those who do not know, Lou retired after todays game. He was going to manage the Cubs through the end of the season. But his 90 year old mother is having health problems so he decided to quit early. As a lover of the game of baseball I will miss Lou Piniella tremendously. He was was a tough, fiery, intense, old school competitor, one of the last of a dying breed. The game will not be the same without him.[]
  18. It does look pretty sweet, huh? I just hope it is relatively bug free when it comes out.
  19. I just discovered this and I am very excited about seeing it when it is released in October. It is starting to generate some buzz on other AV forums. Good chance this will be mine in a couple of months. [] http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/processors/marantz-av7005-7.2-channel-preamplifier-first-look
  20. The Last Waltz and Neil Young's Heart of Gold.
  21. I have this on Blu-Ray (one of the best!). I absolutely LOVE Joss Stone singing "People Get Ready" on this disc. She is so soulful and sexy to me. Kind of like a 70's throwback to me, like a hippie chick (my kind of girl). Many times on the weekend when I enjoy music with a few drinks I play a couple of my favorite songs from my favorite discs and this is always one of them.
  22. I use towers for my surrounds as well. It is WAYYY overkill for the size of my room, but I listen to alot of music Blu-Rays and SACD's and like the sound of 4 Klipsch towers in my system. Like the old saying in the car world goes " theres' no substitute for cubic inches".
  23. The Farewell 1 Tour is one of my two or three favorite music discs I own. Impeccable sound quality! I have the HD DVD version which is even better than the DVD. It is output in DTS 96 khz to my Yamaha receiver and it is truly reference quality. I am sooo anxiously awaiting its' release on Blu-Ray. This disc is the sole reason I am hanging on to my Toshiba HD DVD player. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that it will be on Blu anytime soon. I emailed Warner/WEA back in April or May to inquire about them releasing this on Blu-Ray and they replied that they have no plans to do so at this time. Maybe we should start a petition to try and convince them. For now I will continue to enjoy this disc on my HD DVD player (in fact I plan on enjoying it tonight with a few glasses of wine). I particularly love Joe Walsh's material on this disc. He is such a nut, but boy can he still play guitar. To me it is priceless to watch Glen Frey crack up over his antics over and over again during this show. His version of Life's Been Good on this disc is incredible! And Timothy B. Schmidt's " I Can't Tell You Why" is one of if not my favorite bass test tracks of all. It has such deep, tight, punchy bass that is to die for!!! Any Eagles fan or audiophile who doesn't own this disc should really check it out.
  24. ^^^^^ Agreed! I love Yamaha as well but there are other good choices too.
  25. Well I went and got them Friday. I couldn't pass them up for $300. He said he got them at a local Klipsch dealer a year or so. Not sure how they obtained a cherry pair. Anyhow I am extremely pleased with them. They are so pretty I am using them up front and moved my black pair to the rear! My system sounds great with 2 pair of RF-62's and I am happier than a tornado in a trailer park! I feel like this is one of the best audio deals I have gotten. I will have to post pics of them soon.
