  1. This has 3 Cameras and PIP enabled. Single click changes Cam. You can sit at Amen Corner, sit at 15 & 16 or follow the featured group while watching PIP. No commercials and the sound from the Mic at the tee box is phenomenal. Nothing better than hearing Jordan Spieth slap the ball thru Klipsch. Free and sponsored by Yahoo Sports...
  2. Why do you need a receiver - listen to AM/FM. I'll never buy another when I listen to online radio. I'm pushing my JBL L80s with a Yamaha A-S501 $550.00 and the RP-280F with the Yamaha A-S301 $350.00. Nothing better than watching the Masters thru Yahoo Sports and hearing Jordan Spieth smack that ball thru a pair of Klipsch... ~
  3. Pinellas when I found 7688 49th St N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781 soundexchangetampabay.com (727) 545-0042 Thot I'd share since I saw several members from central Flooridah - old and used but interesting.. TEAC A-2340SX 4-CHANNEL SIMUL-SYNCH Used: In Stock Price: $399.99 Add to Cart Add to Want List
  4. The A-S801 is an excellent choice at 100 watt. Not sure its needed as my next addition will be the A-S501 at 85. Don't feel 15 watt is worth $250.00 This A-S301 at 60 watt pushes my old JBL I bought in 1992 which are not as efficient as today's speaker much cleaner than I ever imagined.
  5. I bought the Yamaha A-S301 black and could not be happier. Connected them to the JBL L80T and will get the A-S501 for my new RP-280F still in the box. Or most likely connect vice versa. I hear sounds from the music I know and never heard before.
  6. What I got yesterday...
  7. Yes Bill, at $350 which isn't bad and have two similar amps on the rack. Already dumping $1k plus new spool of wire and banana plug plus tax is up to $1150.. and the L80s are old cross over design and the want power but OMG do they rock... I bought them in 1992 - so call it a $2k addition and be done with it... problem is I'm seeing out of stock on the S301...
  8. One to drive the RP-280 and one to drive the L80s - I'd like to add two R-12SW someday.. Minimum RMS Output Power (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz) 60 W + 60 W (0.019% THD) at $350.00 each..
  9. Oh yeah, sometime I dont read what I see Bill ... may be its better to bite the bullet and get two A-S301s..
  10. Mustang, I have the BASH amp. Took it to a place who worked for me before but their quality has crashed and burned. I'm afraid they did more damage then good. I want the BASH amp working again so I am interested as they pump out some power but get hot. From day one I said I would take off the back plate to install a squirrel cage fan and never did. I even gave them the schematic from http://www.thompdale.com/bash_amplifier/5-1/5-1_bash_amp.htm and they still screwed it up. So tell me what the difference is between the Crown PA amp and the NAD - why I can't run (2) Crown XLS 1000 amps?
  11. Maybe its just better to go with (2) NAD 316BEE or Crown and be done with it.
  12. My MP3 & MP4 are on Hard Drive so I come out of my PC with 3 lines to 3 receivers - for now... Okay here's the long story again. The Sony STR A/V1020 drives my JBL L80. I have Pro Media 5.1 and when the BASH amp died I bought a Sony 5.1 receiver to drive the 5 satellites and connected both to the PC. When I saw the RP-280 on sale I jumped on it and now need a temporary receiver to drive them until I can buy a good integrated amp for all involved...
  13. You can get electronic contact cleaner in a spray can for the static - I've been looking on CL
  14. You are absolutely right about an integrated amp and my old Sony STR AV 1020 at 120 watt is a power house compared to my new Sony. My end game is the Motiva XPA-5, good price for 5 channel at 200 watts RMS @ 8 ohm (0.05% THD) - I just can't buy the amp & pre-amp right now.... I had my JBL re-cone in Tampa. The Speaker Exchange on Hillsborough - old tech guy and he told me the JBL L80 & L100 are still great speakers but need power. Spec calls for 150 and he told me put 200 into them... So I will use the JBL for front, the RP-280 for rear and the 5 satellites from my ProMedia 5.1 (the bash amp died) as surround... PS - that is a Bose 501 I bought in college in the 70s as the stand.. Your Audio 640A is 35 amp - what do you want for it? I may have to come to Orlando next couple days..
  15. http://support.klipschgroupinc.com/kb/faq.php?id=69 Example: Klipsch Reference R-28F Floorstanding Speaker RMS Rating: 150 watts Continuous / 600 watts Peak Minimum (per Rule of Thumb): .8 x 150 = 120 watts. Maximum (per Rule of Thumb): 2 x 150 = 300 watts Acceptable Range: 120 watts – 300 watts Anything larger is potentially excessive power. Anything smaller can cause damage from the amplifier clipping and digital distortion. Hint: that’s not good.
  16. Audio 640A = 75 watt per channel, I need 100 or 120 I missed Sammy Hagar last winter but won't again - if he comes back. Roger Hodgson of Supertramp plays once a year too.
  17. PS - MetropolisLakeOutfitters, have you been to Eckerd Hall in Clearwater? Seats 3,000 and is beautiful place... I saw YES there 3 years ago. Paid $150 a seat 17 rows back. Steve Howe was awesome and what can I say about Chris Squire - you'll be missed...
  18. Harrison Firearm is 2 miles from me on East Bay... my rifle is made in Flooridah in Titusville at Knights Armament... SR15 E3 Stoner rifle. Randy Savage died several years ago from a heart attack.. I liked Macho and Elizabeth.. Hulk is around here too. He's got issues.. lots of problems. I've been in Paducah at the Ingersoll Rand plant...
  19. Just may do that - I've been looking on Craigslist - an old Stereo receiver as they made much more power back then. Today seems everything is 100 watt, then they try to disguise the output as 6 ohm and 1% instead of the true 20hz to 20kHz at .03%... yadda.... The RP-280 just shipped out of Orlando, should have the tomorrow or Saturday... but for now I may go to Walmart and get a $100 Insignia NS-STR514 - how much cheaper can you get
  20. Cheap is the budget - its a throw away - enough to get me thru until I can get a 5 channel Emotiva or a NAD as the L80s really need 200 watt and the Sony is getting old. Say under $150 but with at least 120 watt....
  21. Hi - Always wanted Klipsch since I heard a pair of LaScala in the 80s. So when I saw the reduced price of the RP-280 I jumped all over (2). Now I need an amp and would love a Emotiva but no budget right now. So looking at a decent 2 channel receiver to pair up with my Sony AV1020 and JBL L80s. The RP-280 is rated at 150 watt and rule of thumb is 80% so that leaves 120 watt. Unfortunately most of the receivers out there today are crap and the output is so low. Any advice? Dnc
  22. Anything can be repaired and I would imagine you can find a local Mom & Pop Electronics shop that is capable of trouble shooting the unit. If the problem was a relay then the system would be on or off and not intermittent where as a resistor or capacitor could be the problem. I would venture to say the vibration of the base could have broken loose a connection. That is – if it is your amp and not the controller. Could be anything. Here is the wiring schematic - http://www.thompdale.com/bash_amplifier/5-1/5-1_bash_amp.htm Until you get it fixed you can connect the sound card to another amp source such as a receiver. Sound Cards are analog and are line level outputs. I know M Audio is and Creative claims to be but I don’t trust nor like any of their products – same for Turtle Beach. You can get 3.5mm Mini Jacks from Hosa Technology and they are sold at Best Buy. Just match the signals shown on the image below and you should be fine. ps – if you hook up Klipsch Reference speakers and fire up a MP3, you ain’t going back to ProMedia. ~
  23. I run everything the opposite way - everything goes thru the computer. I use a Sony CD/DVD player with InterVideo by Corel and an M_Audio Sound Card. The Sony Bravia is plug into the graphics card with HDMI --> DVI cable. You can buy 3.5mm Mini Jack to 1/4" RCA Jacks and Y splitters if you wish to run a stereo receiver with additional speakers. ~
